It's been painful waiting for this rebuild, that's probably why I've become quite callous about the thing!Painful Rebuild
I agree that it's been done to death but I don't recall any itk about a backlash? Please, let’s not rehash this. It’s in the thread and the internet more widely.
Ange was asked about it and said he wasn’t bothered.I think it would be a good time to move him on.
Hes been good without pulling up any tree's.
I remember him having a meltdown when he was subbed off back end of last season and that would have been noted by Ange.
I don’t know when a player showing a bit of passion, like he did when he was taken off vs City, became a bad thing.I think it would be a good time to move him on.

Bentacur is the only player that gives our midfield any fluidity, the idea of selling him sounds absolutely mental to me.

Is it really though? Son incident + bottle incident = frothing outragers. We've seen it already, even on this very site. Some were clear that they'd happily see the back of him after this summer. I don't agree. It's a strange one. Around a year ago, there was a broad consensus here that Bentancur was one of the best central midfielders in the world. And certainly the best midfielder at Tottenham. The club might have insights we don’t, suggesting his injury is so serious that he’s no longer capable of playing at this level. Still, it’s difficult to understand how fans could come to that conclusion so quickly. He only returned from injury around January, I think.

Yeah, I’ve been noticing this more lately—players can go from being seen as world-class to needing to be sold within just a few months. Everyone has their opinions, which is fine, but it seems like there’s this temptation to adopt a very strong view on everything.
With Bentancur, we don’t really have enough evidence to say whether he can return to his best form. We only saw him play for a few months last season, which isn’t enough to make a definitive judgment imo. Maybe the club think he's spent, but that's just speculation. If he does manage to get back to his pre-injury form, though, he’d still be one of our top midfielders. Better than Hojbjerg and Skipp, who are still on the books, and at least on par with Bissouma and Sarr.
Is it the same people though? In the large part I doubt it. I'd imagine the truth is, as is with many things on the internet, there will be people that have always been more pro Bentancur and those who are less enthusiastic. You'll see more of each faction and they'll become more vocal depending on what he's done good or bad that week.
Pretty sure he’s said in an interview that the reason he left was due to AVB told him that he’s not going to be starting in the team.Thought Rafa was more because his Mrs wanted to go back to Germany for her career, so he basically followed the pussy?!
(Sorry, I know that's a bit crude but we've all done it).
