We just gonna keep letting him do stupid shit then just cos he wears a Spurs shirt and say oh well he's human?

If any of us would have done these three things in such a short space of time we'd be unemployed or at least told to have some education/councelling by our employer.
Firstly, we're not multi-million pound assets and secondly, your last few words are exactly what we should do.

Support and counselling, not castigation and ostracism.

It’s not just this incident though is it, he kicked the fuck out of the subs bench when he got hooked towards the end of the season. Then the Sonny comment, now this.

He either has something going on in his personal life that needs addressing and/or he has anger management issues that need addressing.

Either way he hasn’t covered himself in glory in any of the events mentioned above and needs to be smarter.
This is hyperbole of the highest order. Do you actually live in the real world?

Why must people get outraged by everything?
While I kind of agree, I don’t think this is an “outraged by everything” moment. He threw an object that struck somebody in the head causing damage, I think it’s totally acceptable for some to be outraged at that.

I’m really not sure why you are so outraged by this.

It won’t affect us as some on here have already cancelled him🤣
If he played for Arsenal everyone on here would be cancelling him. The difference is many see why what he did is a problem and others trying to downgrade what he threw because that makes it ok.

“Outraged by everything” is such a lazy term. It just attempts to kill any discussion.

I haven’t read a single thing about this. Which is always a good way to join a discussion.

What you’ve described sounds like assault.

Next we’ll have posts saying we’re taking offence on someone else’s behalf.

Maybe we would, but tribalism would be playing a part in that, nothing would actually happen, he would continue playing for them if it suited them and the world would keep on spinning.

It’s happened. None of us could have prevented it and - possibly to the chagrin of many who struggle to accept how little influence we have on the club and wider world - none of us can really influence what happens next. Just ride it out. Either agree with the outcome or don’t, because those are your two options as a fan. Continued outrage will get you nowhere other than a bad mood - and letting a fight 3,000 miles away in which nobody you know personally was involved and nobody got seriously hurt put you in a bad mood 3 days later is just daft.

If he played for arsenal most people wouldn’t even be talking about it. Same way nobody is really talking about Nunez swinging his arms around other than in relation to this.

Mock outrage on an internet forum, well I never!

Everything needs to be put in perspective, a throwaway comment which he subsequently apologised for and the apology was accepted.

A (plastic) bottle being thrown in what was a very stressful moment.

Yeah neither them are good, but there are levels. No need for hyperbolic statements.

It's been a hell of a couple of years for Bentancur, a horrific injury, followed by another horrible tackle has meant his career has been put in jeopardy. He's had a tough time and now is the time to get behind him. He has been a wonderful player for us and always given it all for club and country.

Mistakes are allowed, we are human afterall. Apart from of course the Buddha's on this forum. Let's just take a step back and hope he gets back to his pre injury levels.

People always talk about mental health on this forum, imagine if you are constantly in the limelight, magnified a hunderd fold through social media and your dream was in danger. The expectation these days is immense, that's before we even get to cultural differences.

It was not so long ago he was given a heroes reception at the stadium. A lot more patience and understanding is needed and less judgement. I hope he smashes it this season (football wise of course, not our substitute bench or someone's head).

Oooo cancel culture at its finest here. People can do whatever they like. They will have to pay for the consequences of their own actions. Why others get so worked up about someone else's actions is so pointless.

Right or wrong, it's their choice in what they want to do. We don't need people trying to pass judgement on someone because of something we don't agree with or do agree with.

All actions have consequences either way. It's not for us to get so worked up about it for the sake of it.
