Bentacur must (& PEH must not) start against Villa

Lolo will be vital (and PEH would be disastrous) against their fluid passing n movement n ball carrying in midfield
Bentacur not injured, we would have won the match

PEH is just not suited to how we want to play

In terms of a pure tackle I thought it was worse than Romero’s, no intent to play the ball and he just looked like he was purposefully smashing his ankle to injure him.

Problem with modern laws is they are very prescriptive so Romero’s under the law is worse due to it being higher but Romero’s tackle didn’t injure and wasnt on purpose just somewhat reckless and he deserved his red. Cash went for Bentancur to take him out and got the result he wanted. For me that is a clear red.
There was a lot of talk about intent after the Chelsea game, and some claimed that intent was irrelevant because players very rarely intend to hurt their opponents. But I beg to differ. This from Cash was as intentional as you'll see it, and it should be a red without any hesitation. It's literally the only thing you can do to stop a player behaving like that, and still the refs don't seem to care. The ref even had a golden opportunity to send him off with a second booking, but didn't. An absolute piss take.

I think we'd be fuming if it was the other way and got a red card. He deliberately caught Bentancur but he didnt have much time to react. We've all probably done similar playing football. It was just unlucky that Bentancur got injured.
However, i did think the ref would send Cash off if he made another foul. Arguably he should have had a second yellow but the ref felt he got some of the ball.
The big one missed was the elbow on Gil.
If North Macedonia can get a penalty for Rico Lewis putting a finger in someone's face, then that's surely a penalty.

Definitely ankle and if you take a look at the angle of his ankle after the challenge, I’d be amazed if it’s not more recovery time for Bents. Disgusting challenge.

This image just shows how late the impact was. He should’ve been sent off for intent to injure and dangerous play. The ref yesterday is the worst in the premier league and there’s a lot of competition for that title

It was a bad tackle, but only a yellow as per the current laws of the game. Unfortunately it can't be judged on the outcome after the tackle. If Bentancur had got up straight away unscathed, then we wouldn't even be talking about it today.

Naaa! It was reckless and endangered his opponent. I could also argue it was excessive force.

He could have dragged him back or clipped his heels. He just went full force through Bents. He should have been off.

Cash went straight in on someone who had just come back from an ACL injury and wasn't even going for the ball either. I think these should be red card offences. Especially if some reds are given despite winning the ball first. Cash also has previous, remember Doherty at Villa Park? Should have gone and was lucky to be subbed at half-time.

I thought Cash's tackle was more worthy of a red than Romero's against Chelsea. Definite intend to hit hard, bully, and injure.

Don’t forget him wrecking Dohertys knee.
Matty Cash….what goes around, comes around. I look forward to it.
