I'd start Dom on Thursday in a tough away game and start Lankshear next Sunday v Ipswich at home with Dom on the bench just incase.
I'd go the other way, start Lankshear against Gala and try to save Dom for the league game.
Lanks has enough about him to play well in the euro games and the Ipswich game, while easy on paper, is massively important and the type of game we are capable of switching off for.

If needed, bring Dom in for half an hour against Gala but there's no way we should be starting him for me.
With Richy out, we need to use the kids and if Lanks is considered good enough to be in the squad, this is exactly the time we need to use him.

He needs the game time too.

Exactly.

Need most of the strongest eleven protected and fresh for Ipswich.

Fuck all point in winning that six pointer against Villa if we dont back it up by beating Ipswich

We don't need to win on Thursday.
We do need to win on Sunday.

Not starting our strongest XI Sunday would be madness.

With Richy out Lanks is basically guaranteed a place on the bench for the next few weeks , he has great promise but not ready to start a PL match yet but will get minutes depending on the situation.

It's seems the PL v other competitions debate has started in this thread. League football is the bread and butter of every professional football team anything else is a bonus. Go into work after losing to Gala would it raise much of a comment from you workmates , I doubt it, go into work after losing to Ipswich and see what happens.

I mean with the international break that's not the worst.

Poor guy though.

Hard to expect anything other than him getting injured again as soon as he comes back though, that's the problem. PLus the fact his value plummets with every further muscle problem.

If he misses Ipswich, City and Fulham in the league that's not the worst result IMO. Two games in Ipswich and Fulham both at home we should win without him, and one game away at City which he would only ever make a 10-15 minute appearance for from the bench.

Back as an option for Bournemouth away 5th December would be ideal.

Always going to be an injury concern whenever he's on the pitch though I feel. Going to be a hard not to assume he'll be back for 2-3 weeks and get injured again, poor sod. :(

Realistically do we think in two years time will Lanshire can be far more effective for us than Richy?

Three seasons and his contributed how are you very little as much as I love him his personality we really need more from the footballer

We really need to sell him
Unfortunately I reckon that ship has sailed. Our chance was Saudi during summer but he wouldn't go. No one else was stupid enough to go for him given his injury record and difficult to see Saudi coming back in for him when he's got a worse injury record now and when he's already knocked them back.
Just hard to see who would be take such a risk in buying him, reckon we're stuck with him

Would be a huge test for Lankshear with the Turkish crowd. Not sure if that's a good thing or not.
Think I would go with Son up top given he didn't play the full game Sunday. Maybe another 60mins from him and Lankshear/Solanke come on later depending how the game is going.
