Do they? If there are some recent examples that would make me feel a lot better about it!
After a quick bit of searching for "Not registered in uefa squad [club name]" I can see the following highlights:

Liverpool leaving out Adrian last season, and using that emergency goalkeeper thing as a fallback.
Newcastle leaving four senior players out of their CL squad.
Villa naming a 22 man squad because they only had 1 club trained player.
Chelsea leaving out three players after their made January in 2023 (so the season before last).

I have a feeling City named a shortened squad last year, although they have a bunch of players who qualify for the B list, and well... City!! And I suppose we should ignore the Chelsea one too because they are such a basket case of a club. Also, I don't know the full ins and outs of the above... it's just a quick search and I'm not looking to proclaim anything. 🍻

Of our players to be potentially cut, I think Forster is the obvious one.
I think it's plausible to cut Gray to let him win his place in the team/squad anyway.
Possibly the same logic applies to Bergvall.
I think there's an argument to cut Werner depending on who else we might sign.
And an argument to cut Davies for the early stage of the competition as well.

There are pros and cons to all of those of course, but the positive is that the person making the decision (Ange) will know the character of these players better than any of us, and it's up to him to make that call. We don't know what Ange has planned for the young players, and we don't know how he views the seniors.

Bottom line (for me) is that we shouldn't be compromising our long-term squad building in order to satisfy the Europa league quota. If a player is going to get the hump for 4 months then so be it. I reckon we are better off having to decide to cut a player, rather than being short of overall quality.

To add to this.

My understanding is that HG and CT overlap (a total of 8 association trained with 4 being club-trained), so registering 2 out of 4 club-trained players essentially means we don't have to register more than 6 HG players.
I.e. let's say we register 7 HG and 2 club-trained players, in that case, my understanding is that we lose two squad places, not three.

As I said, that's my understanding. Would be happy to be corrected if I've misunderstood the rules.

Please ignore the above, Thanks

Not sure what you are trying to say, but basically the Europa rule is this:

Maximum squad of 25 “senior” (over 21) players, must include 2 keepers

Of those 25,

Maximum of 17 can be non-HG
4 can be HG - association trained
4 can be HG - club trained

if you register 6 HG - association trained players, then you can only register 15 non-HG

In your scenario, you have 5 association trained (but not club trained) players, but there is only room for 4. So the extra assoc trained guy eats up one of the 17 non-HG spots. That is in fact the situation we are in at the moment. We have 6 assoc trained players before we leave Forster out entirely (emergency GK) and have to count Spence as one of the 17 non HG if he is to be included in the euro roster.

You're right. Some caffeinated mental gymnastics from me.

Really odd comments from “Saudi fans” to this post from Richarlison

They're commenting under the Spurs aggregators' posts with the same thing. Seems to be the odd death threat in there too. It's fucking bizarre and looks like a lot of it is coming from bots, as it's loads of accounts with like 3 followers sharing the pics...

There's not enough money in the world that would make me want to go and work in the country.

The ones whining about and making jokes about his depression can get to fuck.

The slightly better point is it sounds as though Al-Ahly are being coerced into signing him by the PIF, which owns 4 of the clubs (MBS deciding which box to put his toys in). They are pissed that while other clubs get Ronaldo or Benzema they are only getting Richarlison, and it sounds like the clubs are all into it - so the only way it doesn't happen is if Richarlison refuses it, hence those replies.

I do at least get where that jealousy would come from, though using Richarlison's depression to get at him and make him not want to come is just them telling on themselves. Putting a big red X over pictures of him is also stupid. Fuck them.

Putrid club, putrid league.

Yep - we have to leave Forster out just to bring in Solanke and Neto. If we wanted a 3rd someone in the “real” 1st team would have to be sold or not registered.
Mabye that is the puzzle then, we go for Solanke & Neto and then if we want a 3rd signing we need to sell e.g. Richy.

Simple

Credit to Richy for wanting to stay and fight for his place. I'd be so tempted by the Saudi money myself.

I hope Richy can get a good run of games and stay fit for his sake and ours. :)

As much as I'm rooting for Lankshear and think that Kulu can do a job as a F9, I feel better about the squad overall with Solanke(if we can nab him) AND Richy as opposed to one or the other.

We saw last season how easy a squad can become depleted. So call me spoiled, but I personally want to see those two + Lankshear all battling every day for minutes - I only see it as a good thing.

Presuming Solanke signs I think we'd be looking very strong with those two, Lankshear, and Deki at a push as our ST options.

We'd be hoping to play 55+ games next season, a lot of rotation will be required in the attacking positions so I'm happy he's staying.
