Genuine question- what makes you think Dragusin is good enough to be a starter for us? I think defensively he’s going to be good enough but he’s not a good enough footballer at this stage and may never be.
I'm not sure if he the right player for Ange system but I do think he needs to come in for Romero. Romero does slow the game down a lot but is prone to similar brain farts that Dragusin is.

It's just a feeling that the stars are going to align and he'll come good in the next year or two. Also with the younger players we have coming through I recon we'll going to be getting better. If player turnover is managed I can see it happening is all
I understand the “I can see it happening” point of view. I’d just hope we’d try to sign another top CB to replace Romero and let him and Dragusin battle for the position. The chances of any of the young CB’s being at the required level are still small, as talented as they are. It’s a high level to reach. I’m quite excited by both Phillips and Vuskovic though, at their age group finding more impressive young CB’s in Europe would be difficult.

Yep, with you on that. Another ready to go would be ideal

City's press was almost non-existent yesterday giving him more time to pick out a pass. It seems given time, he's a good passer of the ball.

I really hope his agent a reflection of himself and he's ready to put in the work and wait for his time to shine.

No doubts about him defensively, he thrives in defensive scenarios. When we play teams who sit deep that's where his ball playing abilities will need to improve. We saw with his long pass to Kulu yesterday he can do that, also was calm under City's press. Just need to work on when he has lots of time and needs to thread a ball through a congested midfield.

He kicked the ball straight out of play a few times when trying to pass yesterday.
I think defensively he is brilliant but I’m still not convinced he is anywhere near ready for our current system.
Saying that if we sold him he would go on to have a brilliant career so patience is needed.

I think his agent should be transferred for starters.

He was good. I’ve never said he isn’t good at defending. Just short of the required ability on the ball.

Yeah I know what youre saying, but he was good on the ball last night. Ok he might struggle in that aspect with a more intense press.

But a nice diagnol to start the first goal.

He can knock it about alright.

Still think nerves have played a part as well but I really like his no nonsense defending.

Still some development needed/to come but yesterday he was alive to the threats and in a generally much better defensive team display he was able to stick with his instincts, and also showed more composure on the ball. I think Porro helps with both his defensive capabilities and confidence with his technical ability on the ball

He’s a very good box defender. Thats never been in doubt. The game showcased that ability. My opinion is Romero is simply a class above, on the ball much more so. But Radu is young, athletic, brave, strong in the air, and a great box defender as I said. Development on the ball would go a long way in closing the gap between him and Cuti. And tbf he did have a few moments on the ball, a few passes I didn’t know he had in his locker.

The defence is so much more about the pressing intensity and organization ahead of them than the actual defence itself in most cases, especially when we dominate the ball (9/10 times). In games like these where the possession share is smaller, are where Radu can do what he does best. Great performance.

That pass to Deki for the first goal was almost Hoddlesque.

More Toby-esque or Dier-esque tbh. The subsequent ball from Kulusevski was probably more akin to Hoddle.
On that note, does anyone genuinely see him as an upgrade on Dier? I thought we got rid of Dier because of the style of play, and I'd say Dier is actually a lot better on the ball. If we're playing low-block they're about the same, and in this style of play I'm sure he's downgrade...

Dragu is better then Dier, dier could barely turn at the end, Dragu is pretty mobile and quick, and reads the game better
