He isnt great on the ball, so playing him on the left Sunday exposed him really.

No problem having him rotate with Romero as the aggressive RCB. It has to be VDV & Davies for LCB. But we HAVE to sign a LCB in Jan now.

Left hand side is just a problem in general, I think Udogie has some work on his defensive game, but I was really disappointed in some of the basics from Radu on Sunday.

im not expecting him to burst up the pitch like Micky, nor play cross field balls like Toby did, but he got outmuscled, twisted round by Ipswich, and some of his decision making looked chaotic.

Play it simple, play it safe, be strong in the tackle and in the air and he might not be the long term option for us, but at least he will do himself justice

He is still a young defender, he needs the likes of Romero to bring the best out of him.

He'll be fine being the aggressor next to a Van De Ven.

Him and Romero are quite similar and Dragusin cant play LCB, only RCB with his ball playing skills. A baffling bit of recruitment for an Ange team.

Don't think it's baffling, it's just we fucked up in the summer and didn't bring in a LCB option.

Dragusin should be rotating and competing with Romero, unless we have a particularly easy game, such as some of the EL matches, then perhaps you can play both of them.

But we don't have a replacement / rotation option for VDV. That's a big miss, because if VDV was fit all the time then he could also be the rotation option for Udogie.

We need to get serious about bringing in a LCB in January. Then Dragusin will look less exposed when played at RCB.

He would look better if he wasn’t played on the left side of defence . He’s not the most natural of players on the ball . It really isn’t helping his development in the premier league it’s fast paced enough for a young defender coming from a very different Italian league

Playing on the right side didn’t make him look better against Galatasary. In fact he was even worse!

Couple of games back he was getting rave reviews and now he is not good enough.

Ahhh the beautiful ebbs and flows of the mob.
His game against Aston Villa was probably the best for Spurs. The problem - he just did nothing wrong this time and Van de Ven, Romero, or even Davies in the same game are way better

[QUOTE="JUSTINSIGNAL, post: 8919917, member: 15453”] Teams will start targeting him because they know his limitations in this regard, so it's up to the coaching staff tweak the system to give him as many easy pass options as possible.

Would be curious to know how theyve determined our left side as the weaker side of our attack.

Our left is where we make the most inroads offensively with udogie and son/werner, porro and johnson on the other side dont offer half as much in terms of making inroads into the final third.

There are too many random twitter takes dressed up with a graph or one-sided stats to fit a narrative these days giving us false insight, just not worth the attention.

I agree but not every top team has a left footed CB. Liverpool don't and they are very solid

And Johnson does great getting into the box when it's on the left. He just needs to contribute more in the build up on the right.

Came off tonight after 67 minutes. I hope its not an injury, but thats ususlly the reason a cb comes off.

Edit: ignore that, it looks like he was having a mare

Son is an average dribbler at best and his decision making is getting worse (the Ipswich defenders on his side were there for the taking and he stopped running at them early despite the CB being on a yellow card).

Combine that with Udogie and his lack of ability to put a dangerous cross into the box that isn't a cut back.

On the right Johnson's is average in possession but he's aggressive off the ball in attacking situations, Kulusevski has a free role and sometimes takes up positions on the right and combines well with Johnson and Porro. In attack Porro is a much bigger threat than Udogie.

The left side is definitely weaker.

If only we had an attacker that can dribble, its frustrating how much its holding the team back.

Johnson and Porro have their own things going for them that agree Udogie and Son dont have. But the play itself (largely due to Udogie making great runs from deep) is more productive down the left imo. When Werner has debutised for Son you see him break the lines/beat his man so many times also, even if he cant convert the chance. Johnson and Porro dont offer the same threat as a tandem on the ball vs their defenders, they're great at finishing off moves that have developed in other areas of the pitch, invariably down the left.

I’d happily sell at this point simply so we didn’t have to endure the constant comments from his fucking agent. All feels really unprofessional to me, and I don’t think he’s doing Dragusin’s position in the squad any favours.

His agent and indeed Dragusin's performances are certainly steering him out of the Tottenham door and quite possibly sooner rather than later.

Can totally envisage him leaving in the summer.
