He starts on Sunday as he’ll just need to nullify Delap who is a big lad.
He’ll be fine, just get BD alongside him, full backs are more of a concern

I really can't remember. It might have been ITK gleaned from another forum by someone on here. I definitely read it on here though.

Either way, I don't need it to legitimise my point. The guy is poor on the ball - like, Dawson/Davinson levels poor. I have nothing against him, I actually think he is a good defender, but his ability on the ball is night and day compared to Cuti and VDV. That's why I doubt he will ever truly oust any of first choice centre backs to claim a regular spot.

Ironically Davinson looked like prime Beckenbauer in comparison for Gala last night 😅

Arguably best player in Turkey this season, he would be way more useful for us if he didn't get tired of being a sub. Both aren't great at passing but one is at least rapid for this high line. I'm sure Dragusin will also improve when he gets more matches though, especially with functional midfield on front of him.

Generally I quite like him. He was, um, suboptimal tonight, shall we say.

I thought he coped pretty well considering what was happening in front of him. He's a very good player but every cb needs their midfield to offer protection. He got none In The first half.

He didn’t exactly have options when passing beyond midfield either.

He’s also not going to come up against many better striker pairings than Icardi and Osimehn. Most teams in Europe would kill to have 2 strikers of that quality - sure both headcases but Gala have got them firing and as striker pairings go, nobody else really has 2 like that.

His agent has talked a lot, time for him to back it up. We need a dominant display from him this weekend.

People moan a lot about Romero but on the ball he's one of the best defenders there is. It's very very noticeable when you see this guy trying to pass out from the back

Nor do they now, Icardi has done his ACL

Romero is better on the ball, but how do you think he'd have coped with a midfield and forward line that gave the ball away seconds after receiving it? It's a team game and when the whole team aren't 'at it', individuals will inevitably make mistakes and look bad. How bad was Dragusin once Bentancur and Sarr shored up the midfield and Galatasaray started wilting?

Thought the midfield first half didn’t help him or Davies at all and contributed to the nervousness that ran throughout the team. Bergval looked out of his depth (despite him obviously being very talented and I like him) and madders was weak on the ball.

Needs a run of games for sure.

Dragusin and Davies were constantly under pressure. If they didn’t have the midfield constantly losing the ball and mispassing, they were made to persist with the passing out from the back thing, a tactic that occasionally needs to be changed according to how the game is going - and the capability of the goalkeeper and defence. Dragusin is a decent young player and an excellent occasional backup to Romero and Mickey. He is definitely still in a developmental stage of his career. Even my guy Porro was struggling in that game so I won’t be too critical.

Arguably best player in Turkey this season,
Says a lot about the league. Sanchez was abysmal for most parts (while at Spurs). A complete liability and a player that no team mate nor fan had any confidence in. Let's not let let revisionism distort fact from fiction. The odd average performance shouldn't paper over the obvious cracks.
