Under rated on SC but top professional who had several important displays coming on in the second of games last season.

top professional but for me he is just too synonymous with a period of time under two managers where we played the most awful cowardly football you can imagine so I am not sad to see him go but that's probably not his fault more following team instructions.

I don't think he was used enough in his best role which was winning the ball back higher up the pitch. He was good at getting in the oppositions' faces but more often than not was played much deeper where he usually looked uncomfortable and cumbersome. Anyway, best of luck in France Pierre. I think he'll do great over there.

Lol I didn't make that video.

I also supported him when he wore the shirt and respect his professionalism. But the fact is that he wasnt a good player at this level for Spurs
He’s definitely a good player at this level. He just doesn’t suit us because he isn’t press resistant. Players like Hojbjerg and royal were bought for a completely different manager and system, it’s our fault not theirs they don’t fit.

Hojbjerg was our best player under Nuno, when nobody else gave much of a shit, and/or everyone else was feeling sorry for themselves as we waited for the guillotine to fall on the manager. Easiest thing in the world to go missing during a miserable spell like that, because nobody really notices either way, and nobody really cares because we're all blaming the doomed manager anyway. But PEH didn't go missing because that's not how he's built. I'd be shocked if he isn't the Marseille fans' POTS next year.

Looked Denmark's best player at the Euros. In the right team and system he's a very good player, but he was just a square peg in a round hole here.

If he was brought in for a different manager I'm not sure it is anybody's fault, except maybe Mourinho for getting sacked 🤣

By ‘fault’ I’m just saying we haven’t had a consistent philosophy of what we want in a manager, and so have ended up with players like Hojbjerg, Royal, Dier etc who are good players but totally unsuited to what we are trying to do. Maybe a better way to put it is it’s a result of our decisions rather than a failing on behalf of the player - a lot of our fans can’t seem to tell that difference

I know he was disliked here, but we wouldn't be in this fucking mess if he was playing. We lack leadership and desire.
Ange isn’t interested in having an out and out defensive midfield player. He wants a box to box player to play as 6 by himself and expect them to cover the whole midfield while the other 2 bomb forward. Hojbjerg would’ve been just as fucked if not worse. I like the guy though.

Mentality-wise he’s a miss.
Performance-wise I think he’d struggle massively playing the 6 role in this team, particularly without both CB’s. But then again that applies to every cm in the world.

Hojbjerg was box to box. I thought he was good but midfield is not necessarily our issue as much as the system. The defenders are out on their feet as well which means we haven't been playing Gray there. Put Gray in midfield and we have enough depth in that position. We do need a more defensive minded midfielder but Hojbjerg wasn't that anyway. He also wasn't a great leader, more of a senior figure. I think we miss having a Perisic figure more really but obviously not him as he would die in this system.

It wasn't Postecoglu's decision for him to leave it was his, he made that clear when Postecoglu arrived so I'm pretty sure he'd have had plenty of game time this season, as he did last year funnily enough.

That’s not saying much, I mean, I would’ve seen lots of game time this season if I was in the squad. I doubt he would’ve been fit anyway like the rest of them.

He's not the answer to our problems. Even when he had chances last season, he repeatedly gave scoring opportunities to the opposition with loose passes and poor control of the ball. Last season was probably his worst season for us. We need to look forwards, not backwards
