A year left on his contract and one who clearly doesn’t fit what the manager wants. It’s better than him leaving on a freebie next year and clogging up the squad. We can’t have it always, moan that we don’t shift players on then still moan when we do but not for the fee we want. Sometimes you have to cut your loses and we are getting better at that.
He will be on a fair wage as well one would guess between £70 and 100k a week

Clearly worth more than that but can’t complain about the club taking it considering we always moan that we can’t move anyone on because Levy always asks for a premium and doesn’t want to pay for one.

I’m not convinced he’s a great fit there as I don’t think he suits De Zerbi’s style of play, but I genuinely hope I’m wrong as PEH has been a great servant for the club and also a very good player at times. Even coming off the bench last season I thought he did well most of the time. Good luck to him

I liked him but it's the right time to move him on.

I never understood the hatred he got from certain fans. It's fine to criticise a player's talent or suitability for the tactics but sometimes it went over the the top with Hojbjerg. He was never anything but a model professional.

Good luck to him. I wish I would get a nice job offer to live in the south of France on very good wages.

Exactly my thoughts. A totally dependable warrior who doesn't quite fit what we want currently. Worth more, but happy to take the small hit to get the squad turnover going. I wish him all the best.

I think "sometimes" is doing a lot of work in that sentence. It feels we sell for considerably less than we paid for most transfers these days.

We've gone from being too reluctant to take a loss on a player to taking a LOT of losses on transfer fees spent.

Maybe that's the reality of the game now and so be it, but I just feel there are plenty of PL clubs who could use a Hjoberg (I think he'd improve the squads of most clubs) and would be able to pay a decent fee for him.

Other clubs seem able to sell worse players for much bigger amounts so maybe that's something we need to get better at.

Best of luck PEH. For me was always a battler for the team. Gave his all and was one of the leaders on the pitch. Hope he goes on to do well in France.

Seems like a good deal for all pastries. Good to see us clearing the decks, our failure to do that effectively in recent years has surely inhibited our incomings.

gets so much stick, and while not the greatest player we've ever had always gave everything he had, never hid when things were going bad for himself or the team.

Best of luck PEH

This is more a sign of us making bad/mismanaged signings that are then so obviously not wanted by the club. Context of the player at the club, contract length and age are as important as the quality of player. If PEH was starting every week last season we wouldnt be selling for this price, even though its the same player.

Cherry pick Kane, or now say VDV Romero Udogie etc out of the team and we are making substantial profit, but I rather we didnt have more of those types of transfers.

To look at it another way do we see a lot of cast offs at other clubs going for over-valued/really good prices? I dont feel like there are many examples around. More chance if a player is young maybe, a box that PEH doesnt tick.

I always though he was a risk on turnovers, but I wish him well.
