Beautiful part of the world Côte d’Azur. Good on him.

He’s been a grafter and a strong player for us, and I wish him well.

Looks like it could be an exciting project under de Zerbi too.

Ridiculously low fee for a player of his quality.
A year left on his contract and one who clearly doesn’t fit what the manager wants. It’s better than him leaving on a freebie next year and clogging up the squad. We can’t have it always, moan that we don’t shift players on then still moan when we do but not for the fee we want. Sometimes you have to cut your loses and we are getting better at that.

I agree, I just think it’s a great deal for Marseille, because he’s worth more than that imo, but I understand why we’ve accepted it.

I think that’s it though, when you look at how much we paid, and I thought we were getting a bargain at £15m, to get a couple of mill short of that with him being in his last year and not in the managers plans then fair enough.
Surprised he didn’t fancy Fulham though as I think he could have filled that Palhinha hole.

Model professional and hard worker who always felt like he was giving it his best.

Hope Marseille works out for him.

Certainly deserves our gratitude and best wishes.

Good luck Pierre. Always reliable when called upon and was genuinely one of our best players during the Mourinho era.

I guess this paves the way for Archie to make that spot his own.

All the best, Pierre. Not a bad place to land, earning millions to play football on the Mediterranean coast of France.

Honestly, just glad we are moving players on that obviously needed moved on. One year left on the contract and he’s about to turn 29 with a pretty good amount of football in the legs, I’m fine with it.

I’m curious what the people who think it’s a ridiculously low fee think the fee should be?

Considering we signed him for £15 million, he doesn’t appear to be on our long term plans and he has a year left on his contract I think the reported fee sounds about fair for both clubs. I thought we would get about £10 million for him so it sounds like it’s slightly more than I thought we would get.

Yeah it’s fine. He wanted to leave, we wanted him out, it’s been a good deal for all parties. Not that I wanted him in the first place, but he’s done enough for what he cost us.

Fee is a reasonable one for both sides and for me is at a level that maybe shows we have learnt lesson in demanding too much for players we are selling and end up being stuck with them.
