(🥇) 🚨 NEW: Pierre-Emile Højbjerg’s agent has confirmed his client’s intention is to look for a move to LEAVE #thfc this summer.

“I am working on the many requests that we have already received, yes; but we will analyse all the possibilities after the Euros, during the holidays when we will spend some time together and then look forward to the next chapter.”

@FabrizioRomano

While not unexpected, nor unusual - it feels a bit of a let down that this is going to drag until August. It would have been nice to have this sorted before the Euros.
I think it’s safe to say that most transfers involving any player at the Euro’s or Copa America won’t take place until their countries are out of those tournament.

It’s unlikely Denmark will reach the final. They’ll probably get out of the group, and the. chances are they’ll be coming home next week at some point.

players just don't get much time between end of season and start of a tournament (considering the friendlies before as well) to sort out a transfer

The final of the Copa America and Euro 2024 is 14th July. So I wouldn’t expect it to drag on into August.

Hojbjerg will go on holiday when Denmark are out. I am assuming he'll give himself at least a week to decompress before getting back with his agent to "analyze" the opportunities - then comes the negotiations.

He will have to decide which opportunity is best for him personally, and then we have to see if that club will match what Spurs want - and if not, whether Hojbjerg will look at other options.

I expect it will drag on until August - but that Hobjerg will not be part of Ange's squad this summer, and won't make the Asia trip.

I think everyone wants a new opportunity for Hojbjerg - but that it will be more complicated than most expect.

That might be true but the quote from his agent does say “We will analyse all the possibilities after the Euros, during the holidays” so it might happen faster then you expect. Although it may depend on how far Denmark make it in the tournament. If they don’t get out of the group stage he’s on holiday next week but if they make the final he’s not on holiday until the middle of July.

I wouldn’t take too much belief in what players say about their futures. If a team shows interest and makes contact during a tournament then the player is gonna know about it. May not make the decision but they won’t lose out on a move. It’s all about seeming professional to the national squads. No way they will lose out on a move in club footy.

Exactly. Anyway most of this stuff must be handled by agents and clubs in the background. It’s not like agents and clubs need to pause working just because their player is away at the Euros. All the details can be worked out ready for sign off when the player comes home.

I highly doubt we see him pull on the kit again even in a pre-season friendly. He's going to have a number of suitors ready with a few weeks after Denmark exits the Euros. Then it is up to the clubs he wants the most to meet the required price which I think will be quite achievable so the club can let him go quickly and amicably.

Corrected one bit.

Agreed otherwise.

If Denmark win the euro's. look how much more Hojbjerg would be worth when selling!
I am still rooting for England though.

He often does well for Denmark. Weird he will be our only player in that game. Nobody we I'll learn anything new about him though.

And why Ange should have played him FAR more. His insistence on starting Bissouma over him was very costly.
Ange stepping away from his principles would be more costly. Good luck to Pierre however, he was never gonna be fit Anges system so I’m pleased he didn’t compromise.
