Absolutely superb performance.

While his pass to Solanke was the most eye-catching moment, my favourite was when he outmuscled someone, controlled the ball on his head, took a touch 180°, and then played a little pass around the corner to set us on the counter.

He dealt with an awkward ball in behind superbly, had a United player leaping in front too. Could quite easily have made a bad touch or wrong move but he has so much assuredness.

If TAA had played that pass at the end they would screen its own match of the day special. Absolutely outstanding again today

I was very critical of his defending when he first signed, I didn't think he had it defensively to cope in the PL, how wrong I was.

He's clearly worked at his defensive game and it's now at the point where he's incredibly consistent (beyond his years).

He actually should get forward more, his final ball is world class. However if we have him, Udogie, Kulusevski, Maddison, Johnson and Son attacking then Bentancur (or Bissouma) will have a lot of work to do.

Not that Bentancur can't handle it based off recent performances.

I suppose he doesn't have the pace of Udogie, so it makes sense if he's a bit more reserved these days.

Like VDV, Romero, Vicario and now Solanke he's nailed on as a starter.

Great player.

I've said it before and I'll say it again we're brewing something very special here.

An all rounder. Great ability and great attitude.

He'll continue to be dug out for his defending but in the system we (and the majority of top sides) play, fullbacks possibly have the hardest job of all, it's evolved more than any other position in the last 20 years. You need to be able to do literally everything in both halves of the pitch.

I actually think this is one of the tactical tweaks Ange has made. Kulu plays in the half space, Johnson stays out wide, and Pedro fills in the midfield role like another 6. When sarr plays with either Kulu or Johnson, sarr sits in the deeper spot and pedro fills the half space. On the other side, because Madders floats deep so much, it is just Udogie and the winger swapping between overlaps and filling the half space. It has made us both better going forward and better defensively, despite how playing two attacking midfielders might look on paper.

I agree with you, I think, I just don't understand 'half space'.

The inside channels or the space in between the 6 yard box and the 18 yard box (or whatever non-Americans call the two boxes (goal box and penalty box????)).

Thing is he’s not afraid to have a pop from 25yds either, if you’ve got marauding wingers with FB’s pushing up behind who can hit a ball it it just creates so many problems from a defensive perspective.

Blessed Peter Porro, I love you. I once, many moons ago, made a post about how you were going to be no good as a full back because you couldn't defend well enough. I dug it up once to ring the bell of shame upon myself after you made me eat my words.

What a player, and definitely going under the radar but in the best way because he just delivers every game and you just expect it of him and you couldn't and wouldn't bother thinking of a player you'd want more playing in his position because he already does all of it.

Along with Mickey Van De Ven I think they're possibly the two players in the squad that we absolutely couldn't improve upon in world football if we tried. That good at what they do in this system and they just never have a bad game.

He's rapid, he can time a tackle, can read the play and intercept, can play 1v1, can beat a man, probably the best crosser of a ball that we have, only scores bangers, always hyped and always smiling, fully COYS.

It was Hojund, brillant bit of play on edge of box.

He's a 7/8 out of 10 every week.

Our most consistent player.

Agree just quietly gets on with his job and has reached a stage where is so reliable and consistently good.

Arguably our best player. Technical, fast, strong, indefatigable, relentless... scores goals as well, including the odd thunderbastard when the chips are down.

Captain material imo.
