Manager is in a tough spot - if the player does not indicate he needs to be subbed.

Most of the time when a player is "injured" they are not really injured and just need a moment. Having said that - the manager needs to make sure the players know the difference, and if they cannot carry on - they need to go down, so a substitute can be made.

I love the guy, but he just needed to admit he was hurt and go down. If he's unwilling to do that then Ange subs him without a conversation or even Son and Romero need to hoof the ball out and drag him off the pitch themselves. The ball went out a few times and we carried on like normal and then when Leicester won the ball back Porro couldn't even jog back to his position.
I'm sorry but it wasn't his fault, he was about to go down and Ange literally waved him to play on!

I have been thinking for a while that we should put him in the front 3 instead of Johnson as he would be a much bigger threat, and can also pick a cross out. Give Spence a run out in his vacated full back position.
Our work from both flanks in the final third was pretty poor on Monday, and needs improving big time.
It’s a bit radical I know but I think he could make a success of it.

There's no way he would've limped for the length of time he did before being subbed if he wasn't genuinely hurt. If he's fine now then it suggests it was just an impact injury.
Maybe he was doing a Saka…? :playful:

This is probably completely bonkers, but seeing how much Porro sits on top of that RW position in our average position map for match day 1 - is there a chance we experiment with shifting him to RW at some point during the season and maybe play Gray at RB? I feel like Porro maybe fits the profile of an Ange winger a little better that what we have currently, and given that Ange has both our fullbacks invert and step into CM it doesn't seem a stretch for Gray to fill that role either. He even has experience playing at RB already.

In such a move Porto should be able to help oy Gray very effectively, as needed, in defence

Yeah he was my MOTD. Some big tackles, excellent delivery into the box. That header early in second half was crucial. Gambled, committed, nailed it.

He was written off by a fair few early days. Some were hoping we could get out of obligation to buy.

Playing consistently at a high level that we have stopped praising him
Turning into one those 7/10 whatever the game, with plenty of stronger performances across the season too, players that the old squad under Fergie used to say defined top class.

You know what, Pedro Porro is a fucking delight.
Said to my lad at the game yesterday. With all the solid performances, I just love Pedro’s spirit, style and insanely positive attitude; and he’s just bloody talented. Ange must love the guy.
