Cucurella, Carvajal and 39yo Navas selected ahead of him. Maybe they worry about his defensive proficiency?

Patently Porro should be included but he was such a mainstay for us that a prolonged rest over the summer massively benefits Spurs going into next season.

I can’t remember if it was Spain’s last game or the one before but Porro started in one of them and the Spanish press crucified him. It didn’t help that they had also rested other first choice players but if you flop then the chances of making the squad for major tournaments go from slim to none.

I dont see it as a coincidence we've just posted this, always nice to see the club show our players support.

Really bad decision in my opinion. I rate Pedro very very highly. Just finishing his first full season in the PL, just 24 years old and has gone from strength to strength.

He has played 50 PL games, has 6 goals and 10 assists.

He’s not great defensively in my opinion and that may be why. Still quite baffling to say the least.

No bad thing for us . Not that many of ours will be euros or Copa America.
Vic….probably
Romero
VDV
Dragusin
Maddison…poss
Bentancur

Not picked any who will prob be gone,
No doubt we may sign players who are involved in one or the other.
Even so, good for Ange that he will have the vast majority of his squad on the first day of pre season.
I remember in 2018 we had 9 players involved on the last weekend of the Workd Cup. They had the regulation 3 weeks off, one weeks training and straight into it. Surprisingly after 19 games we had 45pts , up near the top of the league . We then proceeded to blow up and only got 25pts in the second half of the season . Finishing 4th and got To the CL final.
See what happens this time with a good rest,

That first assist was a wonderous ball and lol at claiming the Liverpool one an assist, that should boil some Scouse piss! 🤣

I doubt that 39 year old Navas is better defensively but maybe he's a leader. Good for us at least.
Sorry chaps ,yes it's unfair re Spain...but I'm delighted for Spurs.

There'll be long faces when we hear of players who will miss the start of season with International injuries, but it won't be Porro at least.

haha true but international managers tend to be failed club managers. I reckon if you took most managers from the prem and put them in charge of Spain or Brazil or whatever, they would do better than the current blokes.

To be fair it's a different type of job. You only work with your players every few months and even then you may have a squad or XI in mind and suddenly injuries scupper that, or players massively drop off in form between international breaks and prior to tournaments.

That first pass into Son... perfect pace, and the late curve into his path. The sort of ball that Kane used to put on every game. Exquisite.
