I think he's a nailed on starter but so are Bentancur and Bisouma we just don't know which two will start in any given game but they will all play a part at some point in all the games now and thats a good situation to find ourselves in.
This is exactly what we should be aiming for, a proper squad full of players who, whether they start or come on, maintain the quality on the pitch.
A nice mix of experience and youth.

There are enough games to keep everyone playing enough minutes.
We all want a top quality squad but then people still talk about first team and guaranteed starters.
There really shouldn't be such a thing at any top club these days.

Just look at the issues both City and Arsenal are currently facing because they've trimmed their squads and already seem to be running certain players into the ground.

We've still got a few weak areas in our squad but we've filled in a lot of gaps over the past couple of windows.

we are using the young players well, I think Europe has really helped us build a squad.

I just watched it and he seems a level headed young man and wants to improve all the time.
It was obviously a massive change for him playing in Senegal then signing for Metz and Tottenham still as a teenager with not a word of English.

There was a little thing that showed his football intelligence.

When Maddison scored he ran back into our half to celebrate and was joined by everyone bar Sarr.

Sarr started to run to join in but stopped and went deeper into the Villa half to make sure that Villa could not re-start until we were ready.

Smart.

Yeah we noticed that, I think the referee even called him out on it, he certainly called him forward to get back into his own half. The referee was a bit of a prat by the way.

What's happened to the goals and assists thread? He's actually getting some good numbers this term. Consider what he offers in energy as well - making a good case to start

Transfermarkt is tracking everything, thats why i decided to stop it.

I was wondering who the person was that stayed in the Villa half as someone needed to be.

It's easy to forget that he's a work in progress in himself. Only 22 yet this is his third season in the Prem. I hope he really kicks on from here.

I love the fact he has started to take more shots. Shows he's becoming more and more confident.

Also, when spaces opens up, he's getting better at driving into the space and making decisions.

He knows that at 4-1 in the 96th minute the next goal is crucial.

He really is a fantastic all rounder. Definitely a bit of Viera about him.

I loved his little passing range he had going yesterday, he was popping it about non stop.

And his reading of the game was top drawer, those interceptions higher up the pitch were crucial.

For me he should be starting most weeks with Kulusevski.

Bissouma and Bentancur giving us great depth at 6, and the latter covrering Sarr as well.
