He seems a lovely chap and hardworking pro…

But is Sarr good enough?

He’s not commanding in his defensive duties and he’s not a wonderfully creative passer or even a great ball carrier…

I was really hopeful that we had a huge talent, and perhaps we still do, but I’m starting to doubt it..

He’s obviously got a great engine and attitude. But you need more than that at the top end (cough) of the prem table..?

Wasn't that long ago (before afcon) people were saying he was the key to our midfield performing.

He's still a kid. Have some patience.

I would keep him over Bentancur, biss and maddison. Would sell any of those 3 before sarr but he has been poor for a while now.

He's 22 going through a tough period early in his career. I feel he's suffering from the inconsistency in midfield though. We keep chopping and changing things in there. Even today he came on as a 6 and the lone player in central midfield. Not sure what was to be expected.

I see very little agility or dynamism in our midfield. all seem to have the turning circle of sharks.

Saar has potential but has started the season (pre-season included) very poorly. He seems to be very one footed and plays within quite a narrow field of vision (same can be said of Bentancur and Bissouma)

That's one of the things i liked what i saw about Bergvall, he seems to be able to play 360 degrees off of either foot without having to run like a crab.

The sooner we mix up the CM area the better IMO.

Sadly, I think the system is dulling players like Sarr. At times they are expected to drift out wide so the full backs can come inside, other times expected to get beyond the striker, other times bolt back as we are hit on the counter. Sarr would probably be best in a central two, enough options for short passing when he is in possession, but more players further forward for long passing, which he showed an ability of in France.

I can see what Sarr could be if he finds form and utilises his attributes. He has clear potential. Same can’t be said for some others in our team.

Sadly a victim of the experiment to play Madds and Kulu together which is still early days but the pairing while being functional looks ponderous in moving the ball and moving into spaces. Sadly I think Bergvall will move past him in the pecking order once Ange gets brave.

Young player going through a poor period of form. Hopefully he can get his mojo back because we need him.

When every single players looks out of form, maybe the issue isn’t with the player.

Love Saar but he’s either out of form or not learning the system as he has been poor since pre season.

Hopefully something will click with either him or the system.
