I just think he looks really average for me. Its symptomatic of the pochettino era; whom I was such a huge fan of BTW, that our best academy prospect is a technically average but hard working CM. The pace of the adult game is so much quicker and people who came through as technical AMs in the academy, Parker, Noble, Mason, Butt, Sean Davis came through as attacking midfielders and found themselves playing DM due to their technique not being good enough at adult level. If skip was more technical or had Kante like stamina I would have a lot more hopes for him making it

Really needs minutes in the last 4 games. We have nothing to play for other than pride. There will be no player who will take as much pride as Skipp

Plus he is our only DM in the squad and I am sick of seeing round pegs in square holes.

Hope he starts all of the last three to be honest.

He didn't exactly get time to shine today but he was all over the place (in a good way) shutting Arsenal down from the second he came on, which was great to see.

I’m glad Jose is praising him but I didn’t really see him do anything much of note?
It was his off the ball work that was decent. Not as praiseworthy as Jose seems to think but I have a feeling Jose wants Skipp to become his new McTominay and praising him for good but rudimentary work is where it starts.

He came on during a tight north london derby and helped protect our lead; Of course he's going to praise a young player coming into that scenario who helped secure the win.

Mctominay is really a tall guy ... Skipp as usual like most of our academy grad small, can't see him winning aerial battles in midfield

I mean a McTominay type in the sense of a youth graduate who works harder than anyone for the team who he can shepherd into the XI and call "my guy, my project", not that Skipp will necessarily be a carbon copy because he obviously isn't.

Edgar Davids, Paul Scholes, Ngolo Kante all under 1.70m (5'7"). This trend started back when I first started following football with players like Archie Gemmill and Billy Bremner.
Even Gennaro Gattuso was only 1.77 (5'9 1/2.5").
If Skippy turns out to be as half as good as any of these 'little' midfield players, I'll be very happy.
