Done ok nothing we haven’t seen before. Think he needs to be a bit more authoritative but I guess that comes with playing and confidence.

Done well so far, easily one of our better performers.

Composed on the ball, good positioning and found a few nice incisive passes. Made 3/4 excellent tackles too and energetic when he needs to be, calm when he needs to be.

Doesn't necessarily catch the eye or get the plaudits but he's a DM with so much potential. He will only gain more confidence and authority with consistent game time and development.

Love the fact he's playing at the base of a midfield 3, his best position.

Would love to see him given an opportunity in the defensive midfield position.

Wouldn't be surprised if Dier is initially in there though.

Is he the best DM we have right now? And will Jose be willing to back off the Dier Project?

Dier is Mourinho's Matic unfortunately. Both are slow and easy to play round, but i fear that he will be in the team until the summer.

Given how shit our midfield is, can’t honestly quite believe he isn’t being given a chance.

He‘s a specialist defensive midfielder and playing the same old usual players isn’t getting us anywhere and it’s not like they’re putting in the performances.

Try him out, he may be good or he may also not hack it and if he doesn’t then that position needs addressing in January.

If he does look decent there then we can look to buy someone to compliment him.

He was warming up with intention this afternoon, to a point I thought he was the option to come on for the last 25 mins.

Got to better than Moussa - someone who can actually play CM or DM. And thats not wanting to pick on him but what he offers is basically whats wrong with the team and lack of creativity.

Moussa offers something in way of energy but will never allow you to get a ball down and try and pass around midfield

Anyone thinking he’s going to be the answer to our problems is going to be very disappointed

He'd still be better than trotting out the same old worn out unmotivated lot that we have over the season.
