As long as he doesn't get relegated and stuck in the championship with Leicester I think Skipp will be one of those midfielders that's playing in the premier league for years.

Never seen one player dominate team of the week, MOTM polls and universally unite a fan-base in terms of adulation; that loan at Norwich had me believe he was going to be something really special. Never quite worked out at Spurs.

Unfortunately a combination of injuries and lack of game time results in a fond-farewell.

Win|win for everyone.
Don't feel he was ever really given an equal chance to make his case for a regular place. Sorry to see him go but his chance had probably gone with all the changes

Had to be done but between Skipp, Hojbjerg and Royal we've lost some great professionals this summer. Those who have arrived and who remain in the squad should take note.

Just attitude isn't enough any more. Good sign Ange wants to raise the bar. All good pro's but in Hojbjerg and Royals case missing key parts of their skill sets.

Wishing the lad all the best. Came through our academy and always gave his all for the shirt. I'm sure he'll smash it there. Good move all around.

Took my family over from Belfast to the Bayern game last weekend. We were watching the players drive out from the south stand car park after the game. Skippy got caught at the traffic lights at the junction with the high road. My daughter gave him a wave from the pavement and he waved back to her. Made her day!

Surely this means we’re advanced on signing a midfielder ourselves

Nah. We signed Bergvall and Gray in the summer and there were points last season when Skipp wasn't even making match day squads.

Currently we have Biss / Bentancur / Sarr / Gray/Bergvall for the 8/6 positions. We might get another midfielder but I don't think we're desperate for one.

To be fair, I don't think Skipp lacked the technical ability that you're talking about.
I think he was unfortunate with his injury timing and with his being deployed in a position that didn't showcase his ability in a deeper role. In the u21s he showed himself to be a very good #6 defensively and playing out from the back. I think if he had been utilised there he would have remained part of the squad
