Dan Burns owes both GLC and Aurier a meal, after they both intervened and stopped (I mean did their best) Moussa from throwing the lanky defender into the stands.

He misses the next game now, I think, so gets to spend the rest of xmas at home.

Could Sissoko be a great wingback/right back?

He’s definitely not a centre midfielder but his qualities seem ideal to do the job. Very quick, fit, strong in the tackle, etc.

Imo no. Not technically good enough, not good enough going forward/crossing and wouldn't be able to point as much....

That booking he got was so stupid that it felt it was deliberate

Not sure what benefit there is to us having Sissoko suspended for today's game, with Winks out, and questions over Ndombele and Diers fitness.

If he didn't get booked, all he needed to do was to get through 90mins today with no booking to get past the cut off for a suspension.

No benefit to us but a benefit to him. The cut off was after the Brighton game.

Cut off is at the end of the month, so after this round of games

The five yellow card count is “reset” on 31st December. It means a player receiving their fifth yellow card of the season on January 1 or later will not receive a ban.

Obviously not a real benefit not having him available but I'd certainly be worried that we'd see him and Dier in the middle again if he were. If used correctly, massive plus. If intended to be used alongside Dier I can't deny that I'm somewhat pleased to see him out.

I think it was changed recently, and the cut off is now 19 premier league games.

Cant help but like Sissoko, gives 100% e very game. Has made huge improvements to his all round game.

Just hope we get a settled midfield so he doesnt have to play every game. He is perfect for coming on late in games to help see it out or being brought in for certain game away from home. Does not suit games at home against teams we expect to beat, he shouldn't be anywhere near the starting line up in those games.

Great squad member though.

I don't think it was deliberate to get a yellow by Sissoko. He just doesn't take shit from anyone. He has stood up to plenty of players in his time here for us.

I think you'd have to have a fairly cynical world view to assume it was deliberate. Pathetically stupid? Absolutely. But I doubt it was deliberate. He most likely let the nerves of the crowd get to him and that anxiousness allowed him to lose his cool and 'lash' out.

Shame, really, as our midfield is going through a tumultuous time at the moment. It'll be interesting to see who he's replaced with today.

I like his work rate and attitude. Like a number of our players I would be happy with him coming on as a sub in certain situations rather than start.

He's a solid player but he needs to do too much with having to cover for Aurier at all times and then play in 2 man midfield, especially since teams will play with 3 at the back and with 5 in the middle against us more often than not. He is the one helping Ndombele to settle faster with life in England, he always gives 100% even if he's a limited footballer he's a good player to have in a team. We have too many players who are solid but not starting material (Winks, Moura, Davies, Dier) and not enough first team players, but that's not his fault. Him in a midfield 3 with a RB who can defend and with a specialized DM would be great (still not perfect but much better). We have too many holes in the team and it has domino effect on everyone.
