I agree but at the moment we may not have a choice, also maybe a player like him will get supporters off their seats a bit instead of wanting to throw them at the players!
Yeah, I said that we may not have a choice the other day and I was only half joking.

But then, I suppose he's older than Moore and a lot of us are wanting to see him get more minutes, so maybe throwing Yang in won't be a bad thing but he's going to need a few weeks first.

I caveated it with saying it’s a journalist’s statement. If you’ve got anything else to go off by all means question it but otherwise there’s no reason to be so dismissive of the only commentary we have on it right now. If you don’t care for speculation don’t feel the need to comment upon it.
No that's not at all the post I was replying too. The post I replied too did not mention they were talking about what 1 journalist said. It just spoke as if it was a fact thats what we were doing so that's why I responded. Now I know what the source is it gives no further credit anyway. It means fuck all if one journalist says it. There's literally no substance to the article at all. It's literally just speculation and guess work and not remotely worth criticising the club over.

Glad he’s arriving early, our fans will be hungry for a new young player to tear into before Christmas.

I'm hoping this is tongue in cheek.

We've got some injuries and are in a poor run of form, but dumpster fire?

I'm sure not all that long ago, probably a week or so, Ange said he thinks he'll arrive mid December but doubts he'll be thrown in (for obvious reasons, big step up, acclimatising to a whole different way of life/country etc)

So whatever this 'journalist' has said, mission accomplished, clicks/shares gained.

As long as he sticks to the training ground and his English lessons.

How do you feel?

"It seems like a mixture of excitement and anticipation. Ah, I couldn't sleep well, so I watched the Tottenham match for a bit."

Re: Son Heung-min "Of course, seeing such an outstanding player (likely referring to Son Heung-min), it felt natural to watch with high expectations."

Was there any continual contact with Sonny?

"After the national team match, we haven't kept in touch or anything; that was probably the last time. If I get the chance to play with him, it would truly be an honor, and I’d approach it with gratitude. I've imagined scenarios like that, and I want to quickly go there to showcase my skills and play together. Friends and teammates encouraged me to perform as well as I did in the K-League. I’ve been in contact with the coach and staff too. The coach told me to stay injury-free and continue doing what I’ve been showing. Preparation for Spurs: "Personally, I’ve been focusing on mental preparation and maintaining my physical fitness, including weight training.

How are you preparing to join the team in the middle of the season after finishing your current season?

"Since I’ll be joining midway through the season, I’m focusing on rest to avoid injuries while keeping up light workouts to prepare.

Your current fitness level?

"I’d say I’m at about 80–90% readiness." Introduce yourself in English: "Hello, my name is Min-hyeok Yang. It's an honor to be here. Nice to meet you. When I get there, I plan to consistently take English lessons and study on my own."

What will happen when you arrive in London?

"I’ll be going straight to a dinner event at Tottenham once I arrive."

Aspects of your game where you feel confidence?

"I consider myself a bit smaller and more agile, so I feel confident in my quick bursts of speed.

Will you train right away when you arrive?

"There are still parts we haven’t finished discussing, so I believe we’ll talk more and proceed once I get there."

Who will you be having dinner with at Spurs?

"As for who will attend the dinner, I’m not sure yet."

How will you initially adjust?

"Initially, I’ll be adjusting with the help of my agent, and once I settle in, my parents plan to come over to live with me.

Visa status?

"My visa hasn’t been issued yet, so it might take about a week to sort out those matters.

Spurs advice as you're entering mid-season?

" Tottenham has advised me to focus on recovery since I’ll be arriving after finishing my league season. They’ve also provided a training program centered around stretching and recovery. This will be my first time in London, so I’m excited and looking forward to going."

Goals for the season?

"My goal is to complete the remainder of the season without injuries, participate in matches, and contribute to the team with goals or assists. I haven’t set specific personal goals yet."

To the fans?

"Lastly, I’d like to thank the fans who came out to see me this morning and have always supported me, both in the league and beyond. Your support has been instrumental in my success, and I’m incredibly grateful."

Regarding shirt number?

"Regarding jersey numbers, I initially wanted 47, but I was informed that it’s already taken. I’ll decide on a new number once I arrive."

Personal resolution?

"Personally, I feel ready, and I’ll work even harder to show my best performance. I hope fans will continue to cheer for me. While I haven’t shown much yet, I’ll do my best, and I’m excited for this new chapter at Tottenham. I look forward to learning from senior players there and working hard to contribute to the team." Make way for Yang Spurs fans

I find it insane that there seems to be an expectation that he will make an impact in the second half of our season. Of course, you can't rule it out, but I think the step up is so big that it would be more realistic to get him ready to make appearances next season.
I hope they send him to Westerloo or somewhere

Obviously there's massive interest in Korea but i'm not sure there's much in here that suggests theres much expectation unless i'm missing something in the transcript.

Sure he mentions contributing goals and assists but feels like thats just the ambition of the player (and he's yet to have any sense of how he stacks up first hand against the rest of the squad having not spent any time with them us) - but he leads with "completing the season without injuries" which is a much more modest, more long term view.

Where’s the expectation?

There's no larger expectation from the fanbase, it's more like when we've had injury or form issues where people have jokingly said that he better be brilliant etc.

The expectation might come from South Korea with all the journalists, but rather it highlights how big Son and Tottenham are in Korea.
