I don’t know how much you rate journalists but McGrath saying that he’s going to “make an impact” in the team 2nd half of the season makes me think he’ll play. If we are hanging any hopes on him coming in and making a difference to the first team squad and we carry on as we are right now - the atmosphere could be minging at the ground in no time.
Well if Mike Mcgrath says it's so

It’s the only discourse we’ve on it so far so all we can do is take it at face value. I’m not presenting it as a fact brother.
Sure but the post I originally replied too was worded that way

If we see Yang play for the first team this season, then things have really gone sideways!

He's our savior, you know it, I know it, and the fanbase will soon know it, it's not about shirt sales or commercial gain, god, cynical.

More importantly, Mike McGrath knows it.
Apparently.

I think it’s quite funny. We have signed Yang, a 19 year old who has just come off a relatively good season with his club and people are saying that we shouldn’t use him.

Yet I see criticism levelled at Bergvall after he arrived after his first season at men’s football and is a year younger.

Funny old game.

In my opinion, Yang is a Spurs player and if he has ability and wants to play then there is no reason whatsoever that he can’t be part of the teams.

Do you not think it's because he's young, is moving to a new country and completely different culture, and has just finished a full season - his first ever season in the adult game.

Let's try not to break the kid straight away.

I’m sorry I know I’ve never seen him play but to rush him here to make an impact at his age and his experience seems utterly mental to me.

He could turn out to be the second coming of Messi but right now to turn to him to solve our wide forward issues is crazy.

I have to agree. As we’ve seen with Bergvall the step up from these smaller leagues is huge. And that’s before you take into the consideration the cultural adaption of an 18 yr old living 1000s of miles away from home.

It could take at least 2 seasons before he makes any kind of meaningful impact imo

Yang is 18, 2 months younger than Bergvall.

Medical team rubbing their hands and licking their lips in anticipation, excited to add another hammy to the collection.

I caveated it with saying it’s a journalist’s statement. If you’ve got anything else to go off by all means question it but otherwise there’s no reason to be so dismissive of the only commentary we have on it right now. If you don’t care for speculation don’t feel the need to comment upon it.

We have room. Our squad isn’t full.

25 Squad players (*Home grown)
1 Austin, Brandon Anthony*
2 Bentancur, Rodrigo
3 Bissouma, Yves
4 Davies, Benjamin Thomas*
5 De Andrade, Richarlison
6 Dragusin, Radu-Matei
7 Forster, Fraser Gerard*
8 Heung-Min, Son
9 Johnson, Brennan Price*
10 Kulusevski, Dejan
11 Maddison, James*
12 Porro Sauceda, Pedro Antonio
13 Reguilon Rodriguez, Sergio
14 Robson, Max*
15 Romero, Cristian Gabriel
16 Sarr, Pape Matar
17 Solanke-Mitchell, Dominic Ayodele*
18 Spence, Diop Djed*
19 Udogie, Iyenoma Destiny
20 Van De Ven, Micky
21 Vicario, Guglielmo
22 Werner, Timo
23 Whiteman, Alfie Malik*

We can add two players to the PL squad. (And has been pointed out Yang would be U21 and not even required to be Registered on the main list.)
I’m pretty sure the Richarlison & Odobert injuries would change things in Europe as well. Personally I would swap out the one with the worst prognosis. They’re a waste of spots if they won’t play.

Or he has shown in training what they saw in Korea and feel he offers a point of difference.? Let’s be honest most don’t rate Johnson or Werner and there is literally no one else. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him given some minutes to see how he goes

Yeah, maybe but I'm not expecting it to be honest.
It's going to be pretty overwhelming for the kid so I think we need to temper our expectations.

If he does make the bench even, I'll be happy. If he gets minutes, I'll be over the moon because I'm personally expecting him to have 6 months of settling in and maybe a few U21 appearances, not much more than that.

It's a massive step up for the boy.

I agree but at the moment we may not have a choice, also maybe a player like him will get supporters off their seats a bit instead of wanting to throw them at the players!
