He wasn't bought to defend. He's doing his job bringing end product We need a proper number 6 next to Sarr and things would look a lot more controlled in midfield.

Personally I don't see how a top class DM is going to singlehandedly stop the problem.

Unless there was a prime makelele/kante and even then they would be on a hiding to nothing having to cover both full backs and the centre of the pitch.

I didn't say that though did I?

A playmakers job isn’t just to score and assist. It’s to help control matches, dictate the rhythm and tempo of games and unlock the door for team mates through indirect creation as well as direct creation.

Maddison doesn’t control anything, he disappears for the majority of games.

In that sense, Maddison is a true magician.

It will help insanely if said DM is deplored correctly covering both lb and rb. Look at the difference Rodri’s injury has affected City. There is no reason why Biss or Sarr can’t do that role, for what ever reason Ange simply ignores it.

Biss has been getting lots of deploring on here for a while, just incorrectly I guess… 😉

Where is he? Thought flange said a couple of weeks ago that he was due back or next cab off the rank or something yet he’s nowhere to be seen?

Flange? Really?

As for Moore, Ange said this in yesterday's press conference if you cared to pay any attention::

Is it still the same schedule of when players are coming back?

Yeah, at this stage, Richy and Mikey will be the next two off the rank, hopefully next week at some point and then Ben, Micky van de Van and Romero all kind of around the same time, so that back end of January, they're all sort of slated to return.

Could we see him on the bench against Liverpool? That would be amazing but hopefully he’s back on the bench for the NLD at least.

So happy to see him back. IMO, if the pitch was better, I think Mikey would've been even more impactful.

His 2nd half performance, thankfully, showed that he's not too far away from being match fit.

Looking forward to seeing him start in the remaining cup games this month.

Still probably needs to be matched carefully but a few minutes here and there and maybe next start aginst Elfsborg and then he'll hopefully be properly up and running.

No doubt he was taken off for match fitness reasons today.

Second half performance was really good. Looked scared to try stuff in the first, much more like himself in the second. Good to have him back again
