Yeah she's a tough little cookie and now I've got her washed, dressed and hair brushed ready for the doctor, she's just said to me, "I know we probably can't, but I think I feel well enough to go to the skatepark".
She can't stop coughing and is rocking a temperature FFS! 🤣
Best of luck to you and Elsie. Keep us informed.

Mikey, meanwhile, has been laid low by a virus
"Mikey’s the other one, and we’re still taking it slowly with him, it’s still probably a couple of weeks before he’ll be ready to get properly back into it.

It's perfectly possible the virus and heart problems are both correct. Some viruses and infections can cause temporary atrial fibrillation.

When you start talking viruses, it doesn't take much at all to upset the balance of heart, lungs, and even kidneys. Shows the resilience of the human body that it doesn't happen more often to many others

Speedy recovery Mikey!

Just a quick update (because I opened up more than I should have, and in the wrong thread).
Elsie's chest and heart all sound good and the doctor has given me some emergency anti-biotics, just in case she takes a turn for the worst.
Obviously, I won't use them unless I have to but having them to hand has put my mind at rest.
Thanks all. ❤️

It’s a right fucker. I ended up in hospital for a week when I had it. It can absolutely wreck you.

I had it in my early 20’s . Just kept getting tonsillitis every other week for 2 months or so . Good days bad days with it .
The tonsillitis was what wiped me out gave me flu like symptoms and a raging sore throat.

kept getting penicillin on repeat precipitation then one day it just fucked off . Very strange virus

The ‘ol “kissing virus”. Poor lad.

Weirdly, I can still recall when my sister got it… nearly fourty years ago. Vaguely remember her being feverish for a month. And sleeping non stop for another two months. Thankfully she avoided it deviating into full blown pneumonia.

She was an active athlete back then, playing hockey, netball, and tennis. It took a year until she felt she could breathe normally again, and that her heart rate went back to what it was pre mononucleosis.

If it impacted Mikey’s heart, they will need to tread very carefully. Don’t want to mess around with a disease like this.

I got it very young, and can still remember the exhaustion of walking with my mother to get my older sister from school. Almost 40 years later I got ME/CFS and it hits me in bouts. I think they are related. The same feeling, saturated in exhaustion. Unable to move.

One you really really don’t want to rush back from
Glandular fever is more a description of symptoms than a diagnosis of disease, like multiple sclerosis. Epstein Barr virus is a common cause of GF, but most of us have that virus in us. We all respond differently to it.

Seriously though, never take too seriously what some bloke on an internet forum says about disease and treatments! I keep an eye on some things because my little bruv died with MS, but had atypical symptoms. Now there are thoughts that MS can be caused by a resurgence of Epstein Barr. My point being that no one knows! I hope Mikey has a simple, conventional route to recovery.

I’m really sorry to hear that. Must have been very difficult. My sister has MS but for now it seems to not be progressing. Fingers crossed

My Brighton mate was telling me Glandular Fever was what wiped Evan Ferguson out for 6 months. God I hope Mikey isn’t out for that long.

Yeah, it is a bastard of a virus. Hopefully, it isn't that; if it is, Moore will recover quickly.

Ange getting pissed off with questions about Mikey. 17 yr old boy and doesn’t like discussing his health. Should be back by the turn of the year. Might need to play under 21 till he gets his fitness back
