He’s no where near ready to be our back up LW imo. He may well be in a couple of years but he’s some way off. Clearly a huge talent but we need to manage his development closely and throwing him in now could well destroy his confidence
Why are you so insistent that he's not ready? What are you basing this on?

Maybe. But I am not sure Moore can play the LW spot in Ange's system as effectively as Werner. I think that is why Moore has been used primarily on the right side during pre-season.

Also - if Son is injured after 20 minutes - then I think the correct sub is Werner.

So, from a bench stand point - when players are fit:

Solanke/Richarlison, Son/Werner will take up 2 spots.

Dragusin, Spence, Davies/LB will take up 3 spots

Austin/Forster will take up 1 spot.

Bissouma/Bentancur, Sarr/Bergvall will take up 2 spots

That leaves 1 spot open - and currently it would be one of Maddison/Kulusevski/Johnson.

If we sign another attacking player - that player is also in the mix. And Gray - he is almost certainly going to make the bench in every match he does not start given his versatility. We are up to 11 payers that should make the bench - but only have 9 spots, 8 for outfield players.

It's a numbers game, and Moore is going to have to beat out a senior player on the training pitch, or wait for injuries to get a spot on the match day roster. I do think he will likely be involved - I think we usually bring an extra player or 2 in case of a late injury.

I expect him to make the bench, assuming he progresses in training, for league cup and Europa matches.
I do not think Spence will be on the bench. Davies will cover LB and Gray/ Dragusin RB + CB.

On Monday I expect it to be:
Austin, Dragusin, Gray, Davies, Sarr/Bergvall, Kulu/Johnson/Solanke (2 start), Werner, Richarlison + Moore or Skipp

Thing is injuries will start sooner than later. Very rarely everyone is available. If Moore is about to start for the U21s give him a go there. Otherwise we should really include him on the bench.

It's a massive step up from the youth setup/reserves to the Premier League and we won't really know if he's ready until we see him at that significantly higher level.

It certainly doesn't mean he isn't ready but there's a good reason why very few top sides have 17 year olds in their first teams.

Ultimately only Ange and the team will know at this stage but if we're relying on a 17 year old to provide our creativity on the wings then I think that's very risky.

Unless I am blind it looks like Mikey Moore was involved in the media day stuff.

Throw him in. Every1 I speak to with any Spurs affiliation insist he is a generational talent. What is the point of an academy if we never blood them.

What a lovely video that is, and he speaks so so well. Think it's his attitude as well that sets him apart from so many. No sense of having made it, and being flash, just wants to work hard and prove himself.

You love to see it.

And if anyone needed any further confirmation that he is now considered a first team player, this announcement and video is on the main spursofficial account, not the academy one where these would normally be for players signing first pro deals. Since his debut at City he's been considered a first team player by the club.
Great points spot on, if he keeps his head down and surrounds himself with the right people, he’ll do just fine.

Im still puzzled as to how Ange will use him position wise.

I think he is considered a full 1st team player.

Thus, I don't see many, if any, U21 games in his future.
He has only played in two U21's games and that was as a sub both times plus he has only played in 33 games altogther and two of those were for the 1st team. Must be the fastest up the ladder to the top of any young player in Spurs history.

PS In todays interview Ange says Mikey will probably get some U21 games but also 1st team time.

Really looking forward to the cup games now. He just seems so confident in his own ability, which at 17 years old, is an amazing trait to exude.
See the same in Bergvall to be honest. Just look very comfortable in their own skin and confident in their ability to enact what they're trying to do in the moment which belies their age and makes them come across on the pitch older than they are. Definitely vibes of an unteachable type of mentality. But some talent to match it.

I say he comes in pretty shortly if Werner keeps coming in with ineffective performances. Mikey is definitely going to the very top as long as he doesn't suffer any big injuries and yes it will be a step up but there are no doubts in my mind that he can make big contributions right now

He is such a massive level up compared to any other player on that pitch. He plus the game on a different wavelength.
You can actually see that our own players don’t have the ability to play the game he does. He lays the ball off and expects the return and they just don’t have that ability to do it.

I think our U21s may struggle a bit this year. There isn’t a whole load of quality there with Hall (not including Moore obvs) being the only one who looks decent.
