I'll say it. I think that was better than the goal. Top class. He and Cuti both showed a dominance when dealing with crosses tonight. They showed a different side and I loved it.

That was on a par with Gordon Banks point blank save from Pele's header in the 1970 world cup, laser focus and supreme reflexes. Absolutely world class defending.

Vicario owes this man a boat load of everything.

If VDV doesn't get to that, I dread to think what would happen.

Thankfully, he did!

Unreal clearance

The still picture doesnt do much justice. That ball was travelling.
Van de Ven had to run back and at the same time pull that acrobatics move....

The height he gets and clearnce he gets on it is just unreal.
Theres no other professional CB is doing that.

I remember being slightly disappointed because I wanted Tapsoba but then I saw his highlights and pace and I was happy with this signing. Thought he would need 2-3 years to start showing his potential but he's been great since day one. I remember 2 or 3 poor performances from him this whole time, incredible player.

Big game player, big game moment.

That it even went through his head to try that clearance... the speed of thought, added to the acrobatics.

I hope he stays with us for a long time, the heir to Verts.
