The fact that English is the modern lingua franca (at least in the west), in large part thanks to our American friends, has certainly made us lazy about learning anything else.

Totally agree although these is also some element of choice. At school (many, many years ago) I had a choice of French, German, Spanish and possibly Italian too - probably the four main European languages, apart from English. Most people will probably choose one language but which one is most useful?
I'm in no way certain but I'm pretty sure that in other European countries, it's pretty much a no-brainer that you learn English.

If you can speak English, Spanish and Mandarin, you've got most of the globe cracked. So it I read somewhere!

The fact that one of the most talented & highly anticipated youth players to come through our academy, only made one first team appearance in 3 years, is so dissapointing.
The club has to have a look at it's development of young creative players. What are they not doing to be so overlooked? It can't just be willingness to press, because players can & will learn this with age.

Still think we might have dropped a bollock here. It's still very early in his career. If he was prepared to take it we should have offered him another couple of years and another loan.

If Edwards is to be a star of the future surely a much larger club than Vitoria would have come in for him , e.g Sancho picked up by Dortmund from Man City. All the larger clubs have extensive scouting systems I'm sure Edwards must have been watched and failed to impress.

PS Now see that he had a trial with Brentford and was considered not good enough , think that probably sums it up.

All this speculation and guesswork about how we handled him and how his mind works is completely avoiding the fact that he just isn't that good. Its easy to look exciting playing 17 year olds when you are quick and have fast feet but as we saw when you don't add anything to that and go up against grown men you get caught out and shown up, and thats exactly what happened last year in a division that at times is about League One quality.

He doesn’t have the required attitude to make it at the top level. He had the talent but didn’t apply himself well enough. That’s ITK, not opinion.

He doesn’t have the talent Morrison had either.

Always excuses as to why we didn’t make the best of his talent...oh, it wasn’t just us though, it was every club he went on loan too as well.

I wish him well of course but the one common theme is teams not wanting to give him games. It can’t always be everyone else’s fault

He might not have the same type of hangers on / crowd as Ravel but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him with the same career trajectory.

There are a lot of hyped youngsters with weird careers, but Morrison buried himself because he's a massive idiot.
