At spurs , training with the first team
In the championship he had a big chance to impress and wasted it
In the Dutch league he had a whole season and didn't do much

It's not Tottenham charity , it didn't work out for him. We kept him aroun till he was 20

We have players around the age of 22 and they have done nothing.

We dropped a bollock letting Edwards go

On what evidence? Not getting a game at Norwich? Failing a trial at Brentford? Being ordinary in the dutch league? Maybe not impressing any management in training for however many years? Or just by being good in youtube clips of youth games?

Anthony Georgiou is 22 had a fair few loans.
Sterling is 21,Amos is 22

I do like Amos but Georgiou and Sterling will not make it with Spurs.

Maybe if we had offers on them we'd ship then out too, I don't think georgiou will be getting a new contract when it's up do you?

Anthony Georgiou just got a new contract.

Probably so he can leave for a fee, he's actually playing in the championship unlike Edwards who couldn't even make the bench .
He wasn't good enough for Tottenham with the several opportunities given to him, that's just how it is .
Good he gets his career back in Portugal but I don't think anyone at the club is losing any sleep about letting him leave

Agree, and they should both have been sold like 2 years ago.

He was training with the first team for ages but obviously didn't make the cut. Ended up on loan at a decent Championship side but decided he was too much of a big man to bother turning up on time to training etc. Maybe he can turn himself around but it sounded to me like his attitude just wasn't right. Potential is one thing but without having the mental side of things right that means very little.

Don't get me wrong, I wish him well and hope he makes a career for himself, but to make out like he was a nailed on superstar who was just never given a chance to shine isn't quite the full story.

Exactly. We have to accept that different people thrive in different circumstances.

Edwards clearly has ability and it is possible that getting the shit kicked out of him in the Championship wasn't best for his development. As he doesn't appear to have the all round game to start for a top 6 Prem side at such a young age going abroad to play regularly seems the sensible option for him.

I'd like to see him make it and if he does I wouldn't blame the club for "not giving him a chance."
