He does good things, we'll always think of that hatrick, the game against Huddersfield last season ... This season? The goal against Wolves? Small sample sizes and a struggling team can explain it away. He doesn't take much stick though for not producing a great deal like other attackers.

What do I know?
I like Lucas, I root for all our players. But what you see is what you get.

The guy is supersub at the most. Not good at passing or anything. He's just playing because we have no attacking players.

And please don't even start with Parrott thing.

No one in our attack bar Son and Kane has any sort of consistency. Players like Moura,Dele look world class one match and for the next 10 matches play like absolute shit.

Unfortunately for one reason or another, we currently have far too many in the side who are sub/squad level but getting regular minutes. As part of a squad, coming off the bench/dipping into the team now and again, likes of Moura, Davies, Winks I'd consider as handy squad players. As quality, consistent performers, they are nowhere near it and for me it's clear as day.

I'm pretty sure if Kane and Son were fit, Lucas would be on the bench or only getting 10~15 minutes every now and then.

Unfortunately we are not Man City and we can't overpay players like Bernardo Silva, Sterling, Mahrez to warm the bench regularly.

the first touch in Lucas is awful at times . What an earth has happened to Brazilian footballers ?

Are Europe profiting from more money , better academy systems , strong immigration allowing excellent talent to come through .

Brazilian footballers are just uninspiring these days and Lucas is so hot and cold

Genuinely what does he do? Like working hard is a thing, I get it, but what is it he is offering other than being not injured right now?

The guy got 15 goals in all competitions last season. I think it's clear what he can and does offer when all goes well with him in team around the right players.

It's exactly what you said.

I just don’t think we can afford to have Lucas and Dele in the starting line up at the same time, neither of them contribute enough in general play and ball retention is not a strength. Having said that our biggest issues are having an overly porous defence!

So? Dele offers goals but it's not good enough, so if we're just basing this on goals, it's not good enough.

I think Moura is alright, he does work hard, but he hasn't offered enough over this stretch. Could be, like I previously said, because he is now being overplayed (debatable) he has run out of steam ... Thing is, if all he is is a sub impact player then I think he is expendable - You can get the same production out of English players, whether academy or English bought from elsewhere. Onions.

Not aimed at you, but this site and those who post here have different levels for different players. One rule for one and another set for another group entirely. Bit hard to keep up.

It's very common sense there is somekind of bias towards english player. Even if they aren't good enough.

LOL no, no not really.

Moura has done about as much as Dele this season. No one has played well consistently, the levels of criticism aimed at some players is laughable.

I'm not saying about Dele per ser. I'm saying in general.

English players are very overrated by the media.

For a player who has a great attitude like him, for £23m, for the goals he scored when he had a striker to play off of last season either in Sonny or Kane he is great value as a squad player.

We have plenty of excellent squad players, tjphe issue we face is getting 11 good enough to make us a top team instead of a team with decent options scattered through it.

I'm with the offers little group.

We can't judge on last season, in this one he can't keep the ball, runs up blind alleys & even when he scores the occasional goal the rest of his game provides little. For a player who supposed to be quick he had CB's way faster than him.

This. Too many of our attackers are 5-6/10 most matches with the odd wonder moment.

We need some players who can consistently deliver 7-8/10 performances.

Moura deserves some mentioning today as well.
He shows up now and then, but still plays his hide and seek game too much. Just horrible to play him. Get rid.

He’s not brilliant and wasn’t great today but he’s a fantastic squad player and we will appreciate him much more when we have a fully fit squad and don’t have to use him every game. Plus, he doesn’t half put a shift in...
