I’d say that’s a good analogy because like Defoe, Lucas has that sharpness that makes him dangerous, but in highly tactical matches against strong opposition sometimes he gets a bit lost in the churn like Jermain used to.

Lucas has scored at Old Trafford, Anfield and the Nou Camp this season - all at crucial moments in the second half. It's hard for anyone to impose themselves regularly on big games but he seems to have done a fairly good job of it IMO.

I think the reason he hasn't been as consistent as we would have liked is because we haven't managed to find the best position and formation for him to flourish given others who also need to be accommodated, and also a general lack of playing time. Hopefully the latter point will mean he is fresh for the final few important games of the season,

He’s done well, I think he was carrying that knee knock a bit at the end of the year, and Poch has definitely been trying to retrain him as more of a an all round forward as opposed to a right winger since he’s been here. It’s still a work in progress. I think there’s still more to come next year if he can stay clear if injury.

Playing him and Son either side of Kane seems like such an obvious thing to do and I really hope that Poch has this in mind, especially if Eriksen leaves.

be interesting to see what Moura can do in the next few games. So far, I feel he’s way too inconsistent and not really someone you can rely on when needed

He will come good tomorrow. I think he just simply HAS to... A couple of goals.

He's a backup and is our third highest scorer, including the goal to put us in the KO stages of UCL against fucking Barcelona...

I'd love to see what other teams have a backup who have scored a hat trick in a game this season.

fair enough and I partly agree...just feel like he’s not really ‘clicking’ with our play. that might come with more minutes. We’ll see

Its cause Poch is playing him almost exclusively in a position he's never played before at striker. He's at his best on the wing running at fullbacks.

I think he's a fantastic squad member and possibly the best piece of business we've done in years.

He’s frustrated at times this season but your points are excellent. He has this ability to score important goals. I wouldn’t be surprised if he shines tomorrow night- having more responsibility might work for him, especially if they leave spaces for him

I’ve been to Brazil and was informed by a rep that I witnessed first hand one of the seven wonders of the world.

It was definitely a statue of some old guy and not Lucas Moura.

That rep lied to me.

You beautiful Brazilian bugger!

You know how he can be really inconsistent but has shown flashes of talent along with delivering at times when needed (eg Man U goals, Barca goal)?

It's all worth it for moments like this

Scored two at Old Trafford, scored at PSV, scored the goal that got us out of the group at Barca, scored a God damn hat trick in the Champions League semi final.

He can be frustrating as hell but he's a huge big game player.

Also scored crucial goals vs Barcelona and PSV IIRC, what a legend. He will be even better next season like Son this year for us.
