Once you’ve bared witness to the GOAT that is Andros Townsend everyone else must sound like a drunk singing on his way home from the pub.

He was alright. Definitely the best of the youngsters on show tonight. I think I have to just remind myself how young he is and not to get too carried away when he's good nor too negative when he's poor.

Incredibly talented but isn’t a creative 10 for me. Need’s to play alongside a Maddison or Kulu in order to get the best out of him. Allow him to play his game, move the ball through the lines, find the dangerous gaps etc without being relied upon to be the creative fulcrum.

Agree. Won the ball a lot, contested physically, and was a lot more efficient and forward-thinking with his passing and carrying than Sarr.

I’d play him with Gray and one of Maddison/Kulu.

Exactly, he has the dynamism to play the role really well. Can do the defensive hard work and add more to our attacking game. Really he is the perfect profile for our midfield he’s just not the creative hub.

I’d rather see him, keep looking for a forwards pass and potentially make mistakes, than the rest of them passing sideways and backwards. Doing my head in!
