Good performance again, even if he didn't do anything fantastic. Just so nice to see someone move the ball quickly and always looking for it. Movement like his is much needed.

I’d honestly just start him and Gray from now on. We’ll have to go through some pain but we’ll be better for it in the long run. Its not like we’re going to push for the title this year or anything, top 4 will be hard enough.

Completely agree.

Biss and Bentancur aren't good enough and neither are showing signs of improving.

May as well start the project now.

He's one of the few players that moves the ball quickly and forward too.

Yup. Pass and move. A joy to watch.

Sensible that we are easing him in, and good to see that he has got minutes in all the three first games.

Don't think we've got time to ease him in anymore.

Get him in and let him improve where our current starters are just treading water.

Yeah definitely.

I really am getting fed up with our more experienced players jusr lumbering about and passing at a snails pace

They aren't good enough.

Play Gray and Bergvall and bring in a couple of better options than Biss and Bents in January if we can.

Respectfully disagree, the young boys are nowhere near ready and it would be unfair to just chuck them in, I also think that Biss has started the season well and has been good in both the games he has played.

I agree they aren't fully ready but I think they have a much higher bar than Biss and Bents and I'd rather give them the chance than rely on the mediocre senior players.

Sorry I just don't see it from Biss. He doesn't influence games, doesn't create and doesn't protect. He simply isn't good enough.

Think youre correct on Bissouma, but you could certainly slot Bergvall in there.

Bissouma, Bergvall and Madders could be good

I am not thrilled with the state of the club - but I will say, we have a little bit of leeway with players like Bergvall and Gray - they should be starting in Europa League (and League Cup) - after the break. That should give them room to get acclimated - and ease into the starting XI for league games.

That would actually be very similar to the path Kane took when he was breaking into the team. Kane used those competitions to put in the kind of performances that forced himself into the squad.

There's a piece in Football London about the Vicario shouting at him against Leicester.

One of the things that comes out of that piece that concerns me is that he talks about almost choking on caffeine chewing gum.

This unsettles me because whilst I know it happens a lot that footballers take caffeine pills and supplements to get hyped up for games we also heard from Dele and from others in the past that they do this and also supplement sleeping pills. I know this seems like a bit of grandstanding because it's so common place but it's a really unhealthy mix especially for such a young lad that I'm surprised more hasn't been made of it in football

The fixtures are going to be coming thick and fast real soon. He will be starting some games soon enough.

Not sure why so many seem down on Bentancur. He's been incredibly unlucky with injuries but when he's fit and firing, he's probably our best midfielder, not sure this has changed as dramatically as some seem to think...

I like Bentancur but I think he needs to play more as a 6 than an 8. I just don't know if he's going to have it in him post acl to play box to box. I think it's between Bentancur, Gray and Bissouma as the 6, Bergvall, Sarr and Kulusevski as the 8. There will be a bit of switching of roles at times but that's how I see things primarily.

Some calling for Lucas (and Gray) to start - I hope you’re not thinking of NLD…too intense and too much pressure on their shoulders for now. Yes, they should play 10-20 minutes in it but not from the start.

however, starting at Coventry is a definite expectation. From there, I think anything is possible and reasonable even United away. But by Brighton away there could be a strong case building to start either/or.

or alternatively they could be 18 year olds and need until Jan or so to start in the league or a run of games. It will be exciting to watch

Agree I would just take the growing pains and some bad results (we seem to have them anyway) and go younger and really see what we have with these players.

We have zero chance of winning the league and champions league qualification is a big ask too, we are not finishing in front of City, Pool or Arse so there is little wiggle room.
