I thought he arrived a bit tonight.

Showed he belonged at this level.

Great thing is, I think he's got a couple more levels to go yet - like those clips we saw from Sweden

Been a bit underwhelmed with him so far but last few games he's been brilliant, and especially tonight..outstanding.
He seemed to be playing very deep but then leading the press...great energy 👏

I wrote a post a month or so ago saying he isn't ready. The last few games he has progressed massively, positioning, assure on the ball, physicality. Fair play to him and a great game tonight
Just needed to feel the rhythm

The best team to do show that against is Liverpool. Now he is ready for anything.

Lad is a superstar. Gray, Sarr, Moore, Spence, VDV, etc. our future is fucking bright
Kinsky, Vuskovic, Phillips, Udogie. Getting close to a couple of serious buys to plug a few gaps but you can see the picture taking shape. Still more bumps in the road but I know I'm excited

He's got a bit of everything to his game, it's brilliant. The only worry at this point is he is racking up the bookings, but that's something that I think will happen less as he matures.

This goal against Liverpool, especially to be winning goal would do so much to his confidence.

Best part of his game tonight was, he started as a no10 and did well till Bentancur injury. Then had to go back being a alternating 6 with Bissouma and then towards end of the game, he was running box to box like a no8.

He is the most rounded midfielder we have in the club - he is tenacious, has the dribbling skill, can take the ball and run , can pass a quick long pass, can cross a ball and defensively good aerially as well on set pieces.

And he is just 18

Yeah, he's literally improved with every minute that he's played so far, from looking a bit off it in pre-season to this point today.

Really good, all action performance from him tonight and against a bloody good team.
Cannot wait to see him and Gray as a pair in the midfield, they will compliment each other perfectly.

We'll be having premier league team of the season and 'best midfielder in the league' conversations about this lad within 2/3 years. He is a silly talent and the club deserves enormous credit for the work to get him in the summer. Absolute star in the making.

That is such an exciting prospect. It's also hopefully the future of this club.
Obviously one can’t get too far ahead but just hypothetically if those two plus Odobert, Moore, Yang and Vušković all step up in a similar way the future could be very bright indeed.
