I just think hes going to get less minutes in when it comes to the crunch stages of the Europa and FA Cups potentially as we are pretty stacked in our central areas so if he could be playing every week it we should take the opportunity. Quite a lot of disrespect being thrown at the championship, alot of the top teams there are playing decent football and its not plain sailing in them final 3rd roles so he would still learn alot there.
I would be all for loaning out players to Championship or lower for the likes of Lankshear, Donley etc, who needs to start getting used to men's football and playing in bigger arenas.

However, the thing with Bergvall is that he has already played 2 years of senior football in Sweden. Now, the quality might be lower in the Swedish league, but it is a physically demanding league and many teams did all they could to rough him up.

I think he will learn more from playing against tougher opponents and better teammates & learning Ange's system than to go out on loan this season and then we can re-evaluate in the summer.

In addition, we can get all the promises we want but there is an inherent risk with loans as well. Many were hoping for a Championship loan for Donley, and he is currently spending a lot of time on the bench for a team placed 20th in League 1.

We have played 12 matches this season and the kid has appeared in 9 of them which shows ange has faith in him to perform. We don’t need to send him out on loan.

I really love how fans moan about us not blooding young players and when for the first time in forever we have 3 or 4 clearly good enough to get minutes right now and add value, so a portion of our fan base think they should be out on loans 🤦‍♂️

Personally I don’t think Bergvall needs to be loaned out on purely football grounds, but surely the fact that he can never be UEFA club trained if we loan him (or Archie) is a clinching argument.

If he wasn’t getting any time that wouldn’t be such a deciding factor (we will have the same decision to make with Luka Vuskovic next year) but he is getting significant minutes so why jeopardise that?

Certain players are just ready, as another post mentioned he's cut his teeth in the Swedish league (and then some). He just needs time and patience.

I thought it was his best performance so far for us last night, he wasn't trying to do everything like in previous games. If he keeps performing like that he'll get more game time.

I'd even go as far as to say we lost control of the game a little when him and Maddison went off.

Gray is the same. The more games he gets the more he'll adapt. Archie seems a little ahead at the moment but it wouldn't suprise me if they (and Moore) are starting games in the PL by the end of the season.

The talent is clearly there for all three, now it's just a case of building them up.

Any news on his fitness?
He didn't specifically discuss Bergvall to my knowledge, but Ange suggested no concerns from last night's match.

Literally first 15-20 seconds. Hopefully just a touch of cramp for Lucas.

If we loaned him I think that would mean he doesn't end up counting as club trained. Not the be-all and end-all but worth bearing in mind.

He was holding his hamstring which worried me, so I guess no news is good news in this sense and it was just cramp.

I’ll echo my post in the Archie Gray thread. He is 18, there is no rush, he is insanely talented and there is no doubt he will become an excellent player for us.

Keep him in and around the team and if he can get 20 appearances this season it’s a great start.
He looked very good last night and the outside of the boot through ball was immensely good.

I’m only really in favour of
Loans when the player is getting hardly any minutes at all. He’s getting game time and proving an asset.

I really see no reason to loan him at this stage.

Worth remembering that he would have like 25% more minutes if Dragusin hadn’t lost his head for the EL red card - was it Qarabag?

Loaning him out would be folly. Most importantly he will be called on because we will get injuries and suspensions in midfield, and those currently preferred can't play every minute of every game.

I'd love to see him v City, and Gala, huge tests in different ways.
