Unless it’s a good offer for trips I can see him staying. He didn’t have a proper preseason due to the World Cup and the other players from the World Cup weren’t exactly on the money plus Aurier being injured a lot didn’t give him much of a break. I expect him to be much better this season

Think he will go this window. Herc mentioned he expects him to go with some help from us and it makes sense. He's going to be 29 and probably last chance to cash in on a player who I suspect the club think won't be too hard to upgrade on.

He was woeful last season imo and I don't totally buy the argument his form was down to him being fatigued from the world cup. He has always been a poor defender, especially one on one and positionally.....that's a big problem when he hasn't been blessed with the physical attributes to try and make up for it. Perfect example of player who is useful to a club like us when dropped into the team now and again, in the right game/against the right oppo but as a first team regular, the limitations are really exposed. Just isn't the type of fullback suited to the way we setup.

Bit worrying we have not been strongly linked to a quality right back by one of the ITK crew, really is a position that needs addressing this summer. Still hoping we go in for Matt Doherty at wolves, but looks unlikely.

This a bit too left field to be taken seriously. Trippier's and the clubs options are relatively limited, which probably don't match either one's expectations. The danger is that he stays, but realises he's not wanted, his confidence is shot and liability he was last year will continue to fester. There needs to be some form of compromise, which I'm struggling to see materialise

I think you’re right, but at the same time I live in hope that after a well rested summer and proper pre season, as well as his own self awareness about underperforming last season, he can kick on and be useful. Still not sure it will be enough as he has his limitations, but even being dependable defensively and able to put regular good crosses in again would be a huge improvement on last season.

To be fair, he wasn't awful against Liverpool

He wasn’t awful but he lacked confidence , they went down the side constantly to mane ( it’s the side they went down in the build up to the penalty ) trippier had no conviction in his delivery either

He needs to go
