Just a thought - perhaps Trippier being used in a deal for Ings?

It's Bournemouth, not Burnley, who will get most of the money from the tribunal. So perhaps it's a fiddle like Davies and Vorm? Say pay £6.5m for Trippier and £0.5m for Ings, instead of £3.5m for Trippier and compensation for Ings.
I could be completely wrong here, but im pretty certain Trippier assisted a ton of Ing's goals in the championship last season. A little fact but its good to sign players with chemistry.

Need a LB as well.

Bentaleb showed he's more useful than davies in one game. I had hopes for davies but the guy is just too slow and not dynamic enough. Lovely left foot though.

Bentaleb also showed more intelligent movement than Rose and is gonna turn out to be a very smart player (and could well be a fantastic utility player for us eventually).

Not taking anything away from Rose's development (which has been great), just the way I see it.

I'm pretty certain Yedlin will be used flexibly and his pace utilised either side of the 3 for certain games as well - EL, cups, select prem games - as poch eases him into things.

Anyway, message to Kyle...wake up!

Wow, didn't see this coming! Very good news, especially at such a low fee. Walker needs a kick up the backside and Trippier is a good player.

Not sure what this means for Dier's development next season, but this definitely helps the team.

What a name for a FB. Is he more prone to tripping the opposing winger or that he is tripsier when a winger turns him?

Makes me question the futures of both Walker and Yedlin if we sign Trippier, one of them will go if he comes in.

And that would be Yedlin. It's obvious that Pochettino doesn't rate him at all. Buying Yedlin was a low risk gamble and a PR move.

Think this is due to Walker pretty much being on the scrap heap rather than anything Yedlin has done wrong. We need 2 RB's we can rely on to be fit at the end of the day.

I'm very happy with this, he has been outstanding for Burnley and delivers lots of good crosses.

But if it was a PR move then it will put us in a worse position than we were in prior to his signing, bringing a player in and not giving him a chance to prove himself won't look good on us at all.

I don't think so. Signing Dempsey probably got Spurs a shitload of fans and exposure in the US and it's not like we treated him well.

JJ is saying that he may still come good, which suggests that we aren't giving up on him. Maybe he will go on loan, or we will use him as a RM.

Yeah, which is why I think we may just loan him.

In fact, it stands to reason we may loan him to Burnley, in which case they may reduce the fee under the release clause so they can control where Trippier goes.

A damn sight better than we've treated Yedlin, at least Clint played a lot of games for us, Yedlin has played 10 minutes.

Yeah sure, but if one of Walker or Yedlin were to leave there is no doubt in my mind that Yedlin would be the one. Walker is a premier leauge quality player, Yedlin isn't by the sounds of it.

Fredericks will leave IMO. Probably to Middlesbrough if they go up.

And then he'll be insane :D
