Seems very harsh to judge the poor guy based on these mistakes. It’s obvious that these will happen if you don’t play consistently. Especially as a center back. Great players in this position tend to develop late. Take VVD, as an example. He is five times the CB now than he was when he was 22 or 23. As CBs rely so much on their ability to read the game. This only comes from experience. So, I’m not sure why anyone would be critical of him, given we are expecting a level of play that isn’t easy to achieve when you don’t get the required experience. So, yes.. perhaps a loan will be the making of him. Or perhaps, Jose eases him in by playing at RB. I don’t see him ever being given a chance to play as a CDM. Though, I think he does have the makings of a player that could excel in that role if given enough time, practice and training.

All in all a loan to a PL team would be best for all concerned. Loaning him to a team in say, Spain Italy or Germany wouldn’t be all that helpful given the uniqueness of the PL. Only should go down that path if it was as a makeweight for an incoming transfer... eg; Koulibay coming to us and Foyth going to Napoli for a season!! :sneaky:

If we weren't short of quality understudies to Toby, Jan and Sanchez, I think Foyth could have really benefited from a loan move to a mid-table / newly promoted Premier League team.

He is clearly talented but needs more games under his belt to help eradicate mistakes - knowing when to and not to dribble.

Saying that, it hasn't helped Sanchez eradicate his errors or improve his ball distribution and he may have peaked in that respect, but may still improve his positional awareness. A Foyth/Sanchez CB pairing is rather worrying at the moment but perhaps only 2-3 seasons away unless we strengthen.

Its funny that people think that he makes stupid mistaked every game because of lack of playing time. like he doesnt get coached every single day of his life by world class coaches.

Simple decision making is drilled on the training pitch, day after day. The fact that he doesnt learn is why he doesnt get playing time.

He badly needs a loan, a fresh environment and new voices to help him cut out his mistakes, because it sure doesn't seem like any of our coaches get through to him.

He is 21 tbf. Very young for defenders. It is normal he will make mistakes and he is making the right kind of mistakes, namely he is trying to do things and sometimes gets caught out. I hope he gets back into the fold soon.

I'm actually surprised that Jose hasn't played Foyth as a DM. He's one coach I would've bet good money on to use defender in midfield to shore things up.

If he doesn’t start v boro then you’ve got to think the writing is on the wall for him. Not that I’m sure I trust him not to gift them a goal.

From Foyth's agent:

“We are evaluating the possibility of going out in the January market. We wait for this week to find clarity with Tottenham.”

I really like Foyth and what I've seen of Tanganga but under a manager like Mourinho they won't make the cut at Spurs... I get the feeling.

Talk that he could be used as part of any deal for a striker. Hoping it would be a loan rather than a perm move but who knows at this stage.

Not a huge surprise to hear his agent come out with these kind of comments. You had a feeling he would be one of the players most affected by Poch's departure.

All the talk of buying potential talent and progressing there carrers before they cost a fortune is dead under this manager.
Mourhino hasn't changed he's not a coach he's a manager.
He spends bucket loads of cash on established players and treats them like robot's.
It always goes wrong after a couple of seasons because he pisses players off with his boring route one football.
In his defence he always wins trophies if backed.
I don't think Levy will back Mourhino to what he used to.
Player's like Foyth Skipp May as well just leave because no matter how badly the established lot play they won't be dropped.
