The lad needs game time to cut out these mistakes, but it will take quite a lot of time to to eradicate them, so we have to ask ourselves are we willing to risk that. If the answer is no then he needs to go on loan

We need some balance of opinion on here. He’s a good player but has cost us a lot, I’m happy to give him time but fuck me he needs to get back to defending.

A loan moves often does two things, lets players get consistent game time and iron out their mistakes. Given Foyth was brought in at a young age and has been actively integrated with the 1st team squad for a couple of years now, I don’t think he would benefit from going out on loan and it would lead to a permanent departure. It’s a though one, he has promise but if Mourinho doesn’t believe he can play at RB as per Poch and for Argentina then he needs to be ruthless and let him go.

Regular game time and responsibility would clearly be of massive benefit to him. So a loan moves makes complete sense

Homegrown or youth player I would agree but I think Foyth will push for a perm if we try and loan him out.

Europa next season might be the answer to giving him regular games?
Thursday night football will never be the answer for us. There are plenty of reasons to be concerned about what our players will do w/o CL football and how our club will operate without CL revenue.

Use CCV to cover a half season loan for Foyth's development, so we can replace Toby or Jan with his similar quality on the ball eventually.

you do CCV has had an absolute shocker on loan at Stoke right? He’ll be getting sold or loaned out again if he’s lucky.

Oh ok. I had no idea. Difficult enough to pirate spurs games these days let alone stoke. Still, maybe the logic that he can hardly contribute less than Foyth applies anyway.

Shame he got injured in the summer. Reckon he was Poch's choice of new right back to start the season.

I like Foyth and agree he needs to cut out mistakes. The thing is he is a ball playing centre back, he brings the ball out from the back and that in turn could beat the press which will help us. Yoiu can ask him to cut out mistakes easily, just tell him to boot it but that would just negate what he is there to do and what he is capable of.

If you let him go on loan we will then essentially have Toby, Jan, Dier and Sanchez and Dier well... he is Dier and the other three cannot always be relied upon.

He's unlucky in that virtually all of his mistakes are heavily punished. Penalties, red cards, goals conceded. I'd like to see him get a go at DM where he wouldn't be the last line of defence and he could maybe gain a bit of confidence. I don't like the pairing of him and Aurier on the right either but I think he'd be a good foil for Ndombele and GLC in midfield. I'm not holding my breath though.

Not good enough, will never be good enough, too weak, too stupid. Hasnt the athleticism or physique to cover up his lack of footballing intelligence.

Sell.

We basically need to invest heavily in our back 5.

It’ll happen eventually and very likely next season. Harry got lots of games in that competition to begin with. Not ideal but might as well make the best of it
