The one young player I never got any of the hype about. BC's fawning over him as some second coming of Perryman was bizarre.

Amazing playing against other kids, plenty of these youngsters get overhyped by the youth crowd.

Another case of a big guy at youth level doing really well and then struggles against men of his own size when going into the professional game.

I remember a certain Conor Wickham being pretty damn good at youth level as he used to batter and bruise anyone that came his way. Lo and behold, never made the cut!

Onomah rarely leveraged his size though, if anything he was very anti contact. I rarely ever saw him rough it up so to speak unless someone had given him a few kicks first.

Huddlestone did an interview once where he stated his game suffered because he was so much bigger than all the other kids that they’d get flattened as soon as he touched them and the ref would give a free kick. So he developed his game to be no contact
