Or, as it was, complaining about signing a 3rd choice keeper that you deem 'not good enough' to be on the team sheet - thus the question of 'who else then?'

The statement of "that's someone else's job" is redundant because they've already done it - it was your opinion that he isn't good enough, so therefore it's fully qualified to ask for your alternative.
You have...ahem...slightly misquoted me there by making it sound like I am happy to delegate a task but then don't like the result. I said I couldn't name an alternative because 3rd choice keepers don't get on TV much and I don't work in football (and have access to (or interest in) the vast scouting etc. resources available to those who are)

But I keep asking why that should exclude me from giving my opinion on Hart and nobody has explained why. They just keep repeating that I *should* be able to name an alternative. No explanation

Not a sausage in fact

I like the positivity Hart has. He seems to be hungry to rediscover his former glories. None of us know the ins and outs of why he fell.from grace. He may not find the sort of form.he was in when he played for England on 70 odd occasions. But then again, he might. I'm.also extremely jealous of the mans ripped physique! Sure, he loves himself a bit, but that generally comes.with the territory.

Absolutely no need for so much negativity.

Even if Hart is in the background at the club with no real playing input, he can be a positive influence. Deserves more respect in my humble.opinion.
Actually ever since Mourinho came to us, I realised the fan base has been very polarised in support of players. Hardly now is the notion of 'club-first'. As long as any (new) player who is already deeply-impressed in a negative way in the mind of some, it will take alot to accept that he has now become a part of Spurs.

Maybe we are now signing PL players (not very often we did usually) who many have seen the way they play was not what they like. But I thought at least we are getting PL-accustomed players. I am surprised some here even do not rate PEH at all.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

No. Playing elite football week in and week out for a top team in front of thousands is a dream job! Training all week with your team mates knowing that you will sit on the bench is just embarrassing for a player who has won what Hart has won.
I can well imagine that Jose has spoken with Hart about him having been signed not just as cover but as someone who can lead by example and use his experience to guide the younger players. Also, Hart is well aware that he has seen his stock fallen over the last few seasons and perhaps sees this as an opportunity to prove his worth again at a bigger club.

He said "Thank you for seeing something in me", I feel sorry for the guy, he was unreal at Man.City before Pep, but Pep and England press whilst he was our n.o1 ruined a very good goalie. If Jose can give him confidence he will be a great n.o2 and a good influence around the place.

Hart seems another character who will have a positive influence on the likes if Dele,
12 is what I use in football manager, that's where I get all my football knowledge from.

I always have 4 as the DCM and 6 as a CB. Also, 7 is the RW and 11 the left wing. Think you made a typo there! ;)

Because it wasn't just an opinion on Hart, it was criticising other people's opinions and the decision itself.

(e.g. "Everyone's saying this", "Everyone's saying that" )

You can't criticise other opinions and not expect that yourself - otherwise, why bother posting anyway?

How fast was that game!?!?

Could score some cool goals in that too.

Run slight diagonal from kick off, shoot and yank the joystick back with curl to lob the keeper and have the old man screaming. Reckon I can still pull that off.

He even acknowledged that in the interview.

I'm really happy with the signing. He knows he's third choice and whilst at the back of his mind I'm sure he dreams of overtaking hugo right now he knows that his role primarily is to support hugo and Paulo in training, help improve and coach them whilst also being a leader within the squad.

Don't underestimate big voices.in the dressing room just because they aren't stars on the pitch.

Adding experienced vocal people to the dressing room can only help.

Who’s opinion is it that he’s still a good goalkeeper??

What evidence do they have??
Do you think they've got no evidence? Do you think they're guessing at it? Done on a whim? In which case why don't they guess at everything they do, sell players on a whim, sign players on a whim? They'll have seen in him something they can make use of. And he'll have seen in them a football club that can assist him.

I suspect he thinks he may be second choice actually, which is probably the case.

You pull off old men and have them screaming?

What thread is this?

I can not understand the negativity surrounding this signing.
Can someone please explain if they would prefer Hart or Vorm as our 3rd choice?
