No he isnt. Gazza’s much better than him. He’s a #3 keeper for us. Backup for a lower Prem side. He isnt that good a keeper anymore. And Hugo could always get hurt again. Gazzaniga has to be the #2. If he os sold, we need another #2.
Let Gazzaniga and Hart compete in training to see who is the number 2. I'd trust Jose and our GK coach to work out the pecking order.

He was a fantastic keeper in his day and on some level it makes sense signing him on a free. He’ll surely be OK with being behind a WC winner in Lloris.

I imagine Hart is going to back himself to get game time ahead of Gazzaniga and position himself to step in if Lloris gets hurt. Whether this transpired to be the case is another matter, but at 33 and by all accounts a supremely fit guy it’s not out of the question. He’s a winner and has that arrogance that I think Jose will value in the dressing room. Especially if one of our young goalies is rated but deemed to be a couple of years away and in need of loan time, this signing makes a lot of sense.

He isnt great a keeper but he is definitely better than Joe Hart.
There's probably not a great deal in it to be honest.

And I'd argue Joe Hart has been in a rut for a number of years. Who's to say he can't regain a little form coming into our training ground, playing with our players under our lights.

He could quite easily raise his game to be a competent number two for a season or two.

Massive signing, I’m very hopeful this is the final piece in the jigsaw for us. #HartIsHere

Why get rid of Gazza? Hart would be a good signing and let them two fight for the no. 2 spot in goal.

He may well stay. But this IMO is a contingency in case Gazza gets an offer and he wants to move on.

I know Joe reasonably well. Played with and against him through the youth teams at Shrewsbury. My claim to fame was netting a few against him growing up. He's got one hell of a personality, a real joker and will be good for the changing room.

Hart is a keeper who would be great in a low block situation as he commands his area really well (crosses), and his weakness with his feet will not matter. I do not see the reason to keep Gazzaniga as Hart would be an adequate number 2 and the 3rd keeper should be a home grown youth product.

Tons of experience, HG status. Makes sense as back-up. Problem is that he is totally rubbish.
