Can we say Poch gave him a chance (debut againat Colchester) or was it JM who shown him faith and gave him the chances to show his worth?

There was a clip from Jose’s very first training session with the squad where he points out Tanganga specifically to one of his assistants and says “he marked Ronaldo, make him known”.

I think it’s fair to credit Jose on this one as he obviously earmarked Tanganga early on and we’ve been fortunate of his involvements ever since getting his opportunity against Liverpool.

Huge addition to our squad.

He was triffic today.

So good. Really impressive and happy for him. He’s taken his chance like a boss. Hope the rumor of the new contract is spot on. This is a guy who can be an anchor in the team for a long time. Such a good feel for the game.

This was one of the things that really impressed me with Jose, showing knowledge of the youngsters and letting them know they'd caught his eye.
Think how Japhet must've felt in that first training session, having one of the greatest managers single him out for praise.
This lad looks really bright, very mature head in him too.

What is his contract situation ? Does anyone know ?

First time I have seen him play in the PL and I thought he was outstanding. What a talent if he can play so well at LB when he is right footed, and really best at CD, plus with so little experience at this level.

Coming along nicely. Think we have a real gem in our midst. (y)

Of course he's only passed on in good faith what he's heard. Fingers crossed nothings changed...

Hercules posted last Friday in ITK Pinball thread...

Tanganga signed/agreed 5 year contract. Eventually will be announced. Troy Parrot also agreed similar I believe, on his 18th Birthday in few days. Hugo agreed extension.

Edited: This is what I have heard

Quite funny that Poch gets lauded for bringing through young players, yet never gave Tanganga a chance who’s clearly more than capable and would have helped his cause.

Not once was I afraid of anything on the left hand side with Japhet there. He was immense again. Compare and contrast with our game at their place earlier in the season where Rose stood off and never pressured the man on the ball sufficiently and didn't track any runs in behind him. Such a difference defensively, and to think he's not even a natural left back.

Keeps this up could make Euro 2020 squad. Not exactly like we are blessed with CB and can cover RB and LB. bet you’d get a decent price.

Whilst I was excited after his Liverpool debut, I was trying to keep a lid on it.

Since then he has been composed and shown that he is able to fill any of the four defensive posts. He has only looked in trouble against Sarr at Watford, however he coped very well after getting a early booking.

Think he may be something special and the ITK of his re-signing is great news!

? We can agree that the credit is due to JM and we will never doubt him if he says he was the one blooded Tanganga.

Hope the lad commits to a long term contract soon as Herc was sharing earlier.

He is shaping to be a massive talent.

I saw the club posted don't look back Tanganga (Oasis) at the weekend. If someone can't shoe in So Danny Can wait, and don't look back Tanganga I'd be surprised.

He's quick, strong and athletic, which are massive attributes in modern day football. If he's played on the right or as a CB, then we have a absolute gem on our hands.

He had such a good preseason and should of been played more. Although now it is looking like it is a good thing he wasn't. He didn't get subjected to the start of the season's form. Now he's playing in a team with, any luck, a structure that suits him better.

Just shows though doesn't it, he's going to save us a good few quid in the transfer market, if there are any more knocking about at the club then maybe they should be given a go here and there.
