Tough game for him today
Really was. His now played in 3 different position across the back today he'd of learnt a damn lot.

There was a moment in the second half Tanganga was running of fumes, Watford were attacking a lot on his side, Son wasn't getting back ,

big up to Vertonghen, saw it and took up his position for a few minutes to give him a breather.

Sarr played very well, I think most LBs would struggle against him. The experience will be good for Tanganga, and coming away with a clean sheet will do the defence the world of good confidence wise.

Found it tougher today up against someone with raw athleticism, don't think the early yellow card helped as it made him a little tentative, but thought he kept going and didn't panic and ended the game quite well.

Tbh though I thought that Sarr was helped by some extraordinary luck today. Seemed like umpteen ricochets fell perfectly in his path as he tried to bulldozer through. That one at the end where he smashed the ball against his own centre back only for it to fall perfectly for a Watford player perfectly encapsulated it.

I'm just grateful he came through it regularly unscathed. Would be typical of us to have a youth player come in do a great job, have his confidence through the roof only to shatter it by playing him out of position but he stood up in what was tough circumstances especially as you say with the yellow. Fingers crossed he can carry on in a more comfortable position against Norwich.

I really like him. He has mobility which our defence lacks. I like how he can play out from the back which will be good for us going forward

Considering he was booked so early on I thought he did okay, especially in the second half. We’ve got a player here

Came up against a guy who has been in good form for over a month. Got outmatched a few times but felt he did adjust as the game went on (Sarr getting more tired couldn’t hurt, either), but a great learning opportunity for him.

I’m amazed, people see the same thing as I do. Was expecting the usual berating that players get. Instead some really sensible opinions ? Nice to a kid being appreciated for what he is.

He played Salah & Mane better than he did Sarr, but he stuck at it & hopefully he'll learn from it.

No help from in front of him & Vertonghen was poor again.

Plus he's not a LB and he's not even left footed. He had several things against, but did good enough

This guy is gonna be massive for us.

Ngl but I regret the fact we spent 40M on Sahcnez while having this pearl in our domain.

He’s been the breath of freshness during our recent poor form.

I think Jose is just trying him out in the various defensive positions to see which position best fits him and also to plug any gaps for the time being.

One of the few positives at the moment, hope Jose keeps picking him. Excellent experience today.

Had a tough game against the in-form Sarr but what I loved is he stuck at it and didn't give away anything stupid. It would have been very easy to give away a reckless penalty etc.

He was badly out of position but he gave his all and will have learned a lot from the match.

Let's stick to using him at CB or RB though.

Hate to say it but I think a little bit of revisionism is going on re. King. He was always a very good talent, comfortable in midfield or at the back, but it took him a few years to be really consistent and become that commanding centre back - not till about 04/05. Along the way it was a learning curve, two or three years in to his Spurs career you see him make a huge cock up that cost us in a cup final for instance.

As I've said before though with other youngsters, don't get the obsession with labels and fans obsessing how good they could be. Tanganga is physically very robust, ok technically, and has a good head on his shoulders it seems, so has every chance of having a decent career, but lets just sit back and keep the pressure off and watch how it unwinds. At the moment he's put in two performances, and most importantly for me gave a team badly in need of some energy, eagerness, and urgency precisely that, and so deserves his place in the team. Hopefully that continues, whether that's for five games or five hundred.
I believe it was being partnered with Noureddine Naybet that really was the making of King. He mentored him and really brought out the cerebral side of King’s game.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, King was, for me, the best of his generation. Like Hoddle, he was overlooked for lesser talents for England.

Getting back to Tanganga, I can see why the comparisons are being made, he’s unflappable, reads the game well, has excellent pace and is a unit.

I don’t really care if it’s early doors, his ability is there for all to see, he looks like he’s been playing in the Prem for years.

He’s only had 3 games, name me another player from any other team that’s looked so assured after just 3 top flight games?

Harsh on Sanchez at the time. When we bought him he looked like he was going to become an elite centre half. Hasn’t progressed in the slightest since being at our place though unfortunately
