Club’s announcement last summer was very clear that it expired this year. We forgot to announce he signed a new contract, didnt we?

Or maybe the PR department would rather wait and see if he becomes a first team regular, and then use the contract signing as a bit of positive PR on a day when fans are particularly pissed off, would seem more likely.

yeah, who in their right mind Eriksen, would play a player Eriksen that was running down his contract Eriksen and leaving at the end of the season Eriksen.
Different circumstances...Eriksen actually played and number of season before

Let's not go mental for this kid just yet - he had a very good debut and we are all hoping he will be a great player for us but we need to give him time to properly judge him.

Great start but now expectations and pressure on him will be higher. I hope he can deal with it and just play his game. Could save us many millions. Hope he starts and performs tonight.

I love how so many of our fans think our PR department are these longterm-planning devious masterminds, speculating all the time on exactly when to announce certain news to keep the fans appeased. I'm afraid it's much more simple than that. If he have really signed a new contract or we have exercised an option to extend, I suspect he just wasn't high profile enough at the time to make an announcement about it.

A few of our players have unannounced extra year options on their contracts that are not always reported. Lamela always seemed to whenever his contract was getting low for example. The Toby one only became newsworthy because of the attached clause.

I loved his pace and aggression. So rare to see that in a CB. Sanchez is often spoke of as being quick, but that's only apparent when he gets into his stride. Tangana looks to have genuinely explosive acceleration, which is a huge asset.

So true, CBs usually have pace over long distances such as Ledders and Sanchez. JT has that explosive acceleration you usually get with FBs.

Rare that you see Mané fail to out-quick a defender all game. Even more impressive because Tanaganga looked like a proper unit.

I thought he was a big part at fault for the goal. Apart from that he had a very good game. At his age you expect mistakes, and the fact he managed to pick himself up and not affect the rest of his performance was a good sign of his mentality.

To be fair to JT, that first touch and finish from Firmino would have done for a lot of highly rated defenders.

Wasn't that. He should have been tighter to him. If you watch it he is caught ball watching completely loses where Firminho is until it's too late. Only slight blip in an an otherwise good performance.
