Jesus he is bad on most of games, don't know whose idea it was to build team around him, but that decision needs to be reflected a lot.

You get one very good performance out of him every 8-10 games. Just nowhere near good enough. One of the most overrated players in the league. I knew this when we signed him and I wasn't supportive of the signing at all but gave him the benefit of the doubt and hoped I was wrong about him.

Nowhere near as good as he likes to think he is.

He has the technical ability to be top draw but seriously lacks pace which is his barrier to greatness

I don't think that is the problem. There are loads of great players that are not fast. To me (and stats may prove me wrong) it looks like a lack of effort.

You have to give better players surely? Can’t berate building a team around him when one hasn’t……. But yeah he has been poor when he should be the one driving us forward. He seems to disappear really quickly

So frustrating.

World class ability with none of the mentality to go with it.

he’s lucky we have an injury crisis as I suspect he would have really lost his place if we hadn’t.

Our best midfielder has been Kulu, but Ange now plays Madds and our best midfielder now gets put out on the wings. Ange stumbled on our best midfield and it didn’t include Madds. I’d rather see Werner start on the left and Kulu in the midfield than Madds flattering to deceive.

I did say at the time he was not consistent at Leicester and tended to have a great start to a season, fell off and then cane back toward the end of the season.

I got told I was making it up by one person.

He is good to have in the squad but another who shouldn't be an automatic starter for a top team.

Grealish is slightly better and look at how Pep has realised he isn't that level either.

He's just not strong enough - physically or mentally. Watching Kulu knocking players back, going shoulder to shoulder and coming away with the ball and then seeing Maddison fall on the floor and look at the ref. I think you need battlers in midfield and he's just not one.

In certain games he's absolutely top drawer, but there just aren't enough of those games and he epitomises Spurs at the moment - when the chips are down, he's not going to drag us back into the game (unlike Bentancur who absolutely hates losing).

The Leicester fans did tell us what he was like. Great for 1/3 of games, missing for 1/3 games and injured for last 1/3.
Unfortunately we haven't even had the great for 1/3.

Hard to know who would buy him from us but he's on a fairly long list of players I would gladly see the back of

I see he’s one of the new scapegoats.

People in here slagging him off when he probably had our two best chances last night, and created a couple too.

He was one of the few players last night trying to make things happen in a disjointed and unbalanced side that were ravaged by injuries.

Also saw a number of occasions where he was directing other players, barking orders to get back into position and generally being a leader on the pitch, so I have no idea why people are criticising him on that front either.

Was also tracking back well and getting stuck in.

Genuinely think some of you have just made your mind up that he doesn’t do any of the above, so when he does do it in a game you just ignore it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah actually thought he played alright in the second half. Was by a country mile our best attacking player

Maybe. But I think it's about expectation - he's clearly a very talented lad, but doesn't have enough to inspire those around him to do better. I expect better of him because I think he has it in his locker to lift the team, but doesn't seem to do so.

I do think it's very difficult to know what's down to individual players underperforming at the moment and what is just the whole team not functioning correctly with players missing.
