Maddison is a class act.

Its just about getting the balance right against the oppisition you're facing sometimes.

Ange has a lot of choices, all offering different qualities, so its all good as far Im concerned.

Not about the strongest eleven on paper, its about picking the best 11 for the day.

More often than not Madders will be in it, but sometimes he might not dependent on how Ange wants to set up.

Just want to shout Madders out ; and actually as good as he was tonight , I think that's just a continuation of a really good season so far for him.

Seems to be a weird reaction at times to Madders . Almost like some (media aswell as our fanbase) are trying to create a problem with him when if I'm honest , I don't think there really is one.

Yeah, I think he’s had a good start to the season. When we play well he’s usually been an important part of that.

Played well tonight. Still think Sarr will start on Sunday, we'll need that extra energy off the ball in the middle of the park.

He'll be back in for the next few home games Im sure.

Extremely impressed with him tonight. I may have misjudged him (first time for everything I suppose) but I saw exactly why Ange thought him worthy of the vice-captaincy.

I just saw the quote from him addressing the penalty that he gave to Richi. Absolutely what you want from a player. Elite mentality.

He might not have replicated his form in his initial few months but he's put in good showings regardless and his effort has never been in question. Never afraid to show for the ball or drive us forward.

As captain on the night he will have felt he was natural choice to take it without Son playing. Fair play to him for being able to swallow his pride.

But there's no way he isn't steaming on the inside there about giving up that penalty

Seen it referenced a few times, but what did he say?

He took responsibility tonight and looked a senior pro out there which is what the young lads need. I was also very impressed with the penalty situation which he dealt with brilliantly.

Asked about the animated discussions with Richarlison after the game, Maddison told TNT Sports: “Initially, we both wanted to take it. I am a senior player, I was the captain today, I was going to take the penalty. Then a little thought in my head, when I was stood there, I had a little conversation with myself.

“Richy has come back from an injury, it can be difficult, especially for a striker. I knew that last year as well when I had a long injury. It took me a while to get my first goal. That really gives you confidence. A split-second decision to let him take it. It will do him the world of good.

“Just leadership, yeah. I wore the armband tonight, which is a huge honour. But even if I wasn’t the captain or didn’t have the armband, the title, I’d still like to think I would make the decisions that are best for the team.

“I thought it was best if Richy took it and he’s a good penalty taker. There was no thought about that – if he would be able to get the job done. Hopefully that gives him a big boost.”

Not sure we do against a poor palace team. I think they’ll try to low block us and we’ll need the creativity of Kulu and maddison.

I don’t think so. You would imagine they will sit back to begin with

Funny how we perceive players really.

When at Leicester, probably seen as really irritating, arrogant lad, scored against us, did his celebration, smiling and joking and lots of fans hated it.

The reality is, he's a young man, who enjoys what he does and has fun doing it, a brilliant player as well. Really happy we got him as a Spurs player truth be told and really liking his maturity here as a senior player, stepping up into that leadership role really well.

He really pissed me off yesterday when he went down “injured” I thought it was super serious, like OMG he’s done. Then up he gets. All fine and dandy. Just get up mate FFS. Thinks he’s David Beckham but plays like Posh.

Saw this on Instagram but couldn't share so found it on reddit.

Maddison and Mikey having to get our and walk to the stadium before the game due to traffic.

Imagine coming out of the pub and bumping into these two!
