Thought one of Maddison or Grealish would be cut, but not both of them. Bold move by Gareth. I don’t think we will miss either.

I'd get Maupay throwing "banter" if he was in the France squad or did anything of note ever, but he literally lost the game he mocked the darts celebration and he's going back to Everton after his loan. It's like Newcastle making trophies jokes about Tottenham. It makes zero sense.

I'm really quite fuming we didn't sign Wharton. Dropped the ball massively. Even with Bergvall coming in
I don't know that we dropped the ball. Palace could offer him more game time and we also signed both Dragusin and Bergvall that window. It's also a bit early to say how good he can be at this point. Plenty of players can look good early and struggle in time. I guess you can say we missed out on any young prospect who comes good as well though. I think we've been doing well with these young prospects of late so not sure we should complain we don't sign all of them.

Time to rest, recover and refocus for a huge season. He does what he can do, then he'll be a mainstay in the national team for a few years.

Maybe, but I'm sure if we'd gone all out for him with conviction we could've got him.
Maybe, but we also have midfielders coming in/through already with Bergvall and Devine. He made the right choice for his career at this point in time and I can't knock him for that.

Reminds of when I used to play football, two of the lads had a bet with one lad saying Liverpool would easily knock out Celtic. The Celtic fan was like 'no chance'.

Celtic won and the following week, the Liverpool fan walked into the dressing room making that money gesture, as if to say "pay up" to the Celtic fan.

You lost the bet you dimwit, you don't become the banterer.

Maupay is like that, he will lose but he will still banter.
