I find Uniteds recruiting very odd, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of coherence about it. You could say the same about us at times to a degree, but in our case it’s often cheapish punts that are somewhat confusing. United seem to be do that with monster level fees. For what they have spent it looks very disjointed.
Mount is particularly curious considering they seem to really need a number 6 as Neville moaned about for most of the game.

Yeah I mean i obviously don’t care what they do, but read what some of United fans are saying out of curiosity. It seems they are very confused about the clubs recruiting strategy. They have spent some serious money on some seriously average players.

I genuinely thought Maddison was an absolute **** that had a bee in his bonnet about us.

Turns out - unsurprisingly - that I’m the massive ****. I think he’s bloody fantastic and is pretty much my favourite player already. He is so very Tottenham.

The great Ronan Keating pretty much sums up how I feel about Maddison.

Maybe we take the Ronan theme and post another one of his songs in the ITK Discussion Thread - Nothing At All the perfect fit.

SSN showing some footage of Maddison leaving the ground on crutches and in protective boot, but echoing Ali Gold’s tweet that Madders himself has said it’s nothing to worry about. In the clip he’s moving so fast even on the crutches that I reckon we could start him at Bournemouth even if he still needs them!

He’s outstanding.

I find it totally insane that in a market where Paqueta is being talked about for 85m, and Lavia went for 60, that no one went for him.

He could get in any side in the league IMO, possibly even City now KDB is injured. Bizarre

I think it was in the interview post match on Sky where Ange said we may have got him at the best time in his life. Family and settled, matured and wants to work his socks off to succeed.

Yeah def doesn’t look to bad, but I could maybe still see him starting from the bench if he misses a few days training

Rarely is it fully precautionary to wear a boot, I’d be extremely surprised if he plays against Bournemouth in which case I bloody hope we keep Lo Celso and he can slot in nicely.

Maddison has entered into a different league with us and has really stepped up.

He’s so vital for us. So much so that I fear we need a direct replacement if he ever is injured. Lo Celso could be, but not certain.

I'm sitting here eating the humble pie and I couldn't be happier.

I thought Maddison wouldn't elevate us significantly but he's absolutely tearing it up so far. I'm crazy impressed by how he's conducting himself on and off the pitch.

Maddison is main reason we are playing and attacking so well again. Not just because he's excellent, but also because we haven't had a proper creative hook/playmaker linking midfield and attack since Eriksen left.

Who knew? All you needed was to add a third midfielder instead of defender, and give them freedom between the lines.
