Top class performance. In a couple of months he’ll make a mistake that’ll cost us a goal and people will say he’s shit and never turns up in the big games.

a year ago there were people here saying that he never saves penalties. Fml humans

He looks refreshed and a lot more decisive in everything he did. Almost like the break has recharged him. Probably just burned out after the WC win.

A year ago he had never saved a penalty for us...then he went and saved three in a row (four of the last five he's faced, after today).

In fairness, he didn't a year ago. I think he must have worked on them since PG came and started saving them? No other connection/change that sparked it

Perhaps burnout played a part, but the whole squad looks a bit refreshed since the change of management.

He used to be good at almost saving penalties, but never quite got a strong hand to the ball (like Pukki's penalty the other day).

I couldn't see what he'd done at the end there, I initially thought he'd jarred his knee or something horrible when he landed. To see him on his feet again was such a relief, especially as we'd used all 3 subs. Let's hope he didn't tweak something launching into that jump.

I don't believe that. PG penalty save rates are not particularly good. Last week was only his second penalty save in 15 attempts. Similarly 3 saves in 13 attempts in penalty shootouts is nothing to write home about (average at best). Lloris is yet to face a penalty shoot out for club and country so don't know what his stats are like.

But nothing suggests PG is a particularly effective penalty stopper.

Love seeing him displaying the confidence in his decision making. Felt like prior to the injury he seemed so uncomfortable/hesitant at times. He's such a fantastic goalkeeper when he's playing within his comfort zone. Looks refreshed, for sure.

And, whisper it, but his distribution seems to have improved as well. Of course it doesn't help that we had the shortest man on the pitch trying to get on the end of all of his long balls but he didn't punt any out for throwins so... baby steps.

Why would you say that on the Internet? People can check what to you say through a 2 minute google. And it’s wrong. He saves about 20% of penalties faced

De Gea for example has saved 2 out of 25 faced in the EPL. 8%. Tim KruL, supposedly an expert, has a worse save rate.

Lloris is pretty decent at stopping penalties.
